Autobahn Package Thoughts

Can anyone who has (or has driven) a 7 with the Autobahn Package share their thoughts on the pros and cons of it? I understand the 7 has a tighter turning radius due to the Active Steer and have read that the car feels “smaller” as a result of this. Does the Autobahn package make the 7 more or less sporty and dynamic?

I have the Autobahn Package on my 2016 G12 750i xDrive (M package as well). The car definitely feels smaller than it is -- especially when cornering and when maneuvering in tight spaces.

I was given a loaner G12 7-Series several weeks ago since mine was in for service, and that car did not have the Autobahn Package. The car's length and heft was so much more noticeable from behind the wheel. I couldn't wait to get mine back.

My previous 7-Series (a 2012 F02 740Li) had integral active steering as an option, and it, too, felt quite maneuverable at low speeds. I don't understand why anyone ordering a 7-Series (especially in the US where now we only get the long wheelbase) wouldn't order IAS (now in the Autobahn Package) by default. Such a worthwhile feature that makes the car more capable.

Get the Autobahn Pkg

Agree with TheBry. I also have the Autobahn Pkg and was given a loaner without it. The loaner felt much "bigger" and more "ponderous". I didn't like the handling. The technology is what makes this car special...and this technology is great for a big car like this. I wouldn't hesitate to order Autobahn again. Its worth it if you care about handling and maneuverability.

Thanks for the input...I am more interested in the Anti roll system included in the autobahn package but have heard mixed reviews about IAS in the f10.Most felt that IAS made the car feel weird and artificial ?I never had a chance to drive a car with IAS though. Its nice to know otherwise from the owners.

I have driven both and largely prefer the std car. Certainly didnf feel worth paying a large amount more for. Putting the steering and damping in sport has far more effect.
