a/c off switch?

do i need to switch off the a/c before turning off the engine? i noticed bmws dont have an a/c off button.

No you don't. The car will turn off the A/C when you turn the engine off. The A/C compressor can only run when the engine is running anyway, so as soon as you turn the engine off, the A/C will shut off too.
