good it was more about them than the cars, we don't really need that many corny jokes had the car content been better, show us the cars and get out of the way

^THIS.
Good riddance. Orig TGUK had the tedious cross country competitions, but at least they sprinkled in reviews/test of cars I actually wanted to see. With TGUS it was all about the incessant & nonsensical competitions. In reality it was a show about three characters that happened to drive cars.

+1, They need to hand the reigns over to Chris Harris if they want that show to survive. The current iteration is bordering on unwatchable.

Yes, but I'd argue those guys were at least entertaining. The only guy I can semi-remotely stand is Tanner Faust. Hate the fat head with his dumb laugh, and the other guy is just loud and annoying (kind like the NJ version of Chris Evans now that I think about it).

It was always awkward. No real comaradery like the jeremy, hamster, captain slow top gear. BBC still hasn't realized the success of that show wasn't the cars, the format, it was the people. You can't just throw 3 strangers together and create magic. Also, their disdain for the left, which drove BBC nuts, also was a reason it worked. The new one is an epic fail. The American one was awkward and clunky. I thought all three hosts were tiresome and each episode seemed a blatant ripoff of a British episode. Either get the boys back or bury the cash cow franchise with dignity instead of ruining it with a mixer of hosts that resembles a glass of oj, milk, and tobasco.
