120408 DTC

So I’m dealing with a 102408 code that clears when I turn car off and comes back whenever it wants apparently. Throws car into limp mode and no other code present. Before this I was getting a 12B505 code for O2 sensor which I replaced both for good measure and reset adaptations cleared all codes and all was good…. For a bit. Now I just keep getting this solo code and it’s driving me nuts.

Anyone every dealt with this code or pointers on wtf is going on lol. Car is a 2016 BMW 750i with the N63R aka tu2 engine.

Thanks for any input in advance

Happy boosting

What does code 102408 refer to? Is it a boost control error?

Without seeing FASTA or live data, it's hard to say, but I would lean towards wastegate solenoids.

This kind of fault usually manifests itself when everything in engine compartment becomes heat soaked and those actuators start behaving funny. Everything within controller feedback loop might seem within spec for electronics, but actual boost deviates from the setpoint and is thus disabled/degraded.

EDIT: From another thread I see that you run some kind of tune on your engine. This might very well cause your issues.
