I hope they get it wrong with the hybrid power train.

The one time I want the insiders to be wrong.

Is it me or do the 911s get bigger and bigger? I think a Toyota Hilander is smaller than that prototype. That’s why I love my 135is. Nice, small and tidy and can put it anywhere I want.

Exactly why I will be buying a Cayman S. And yea, I love the 1 series, such a fun car to drive.

This question applies to nearly every car and brand that comes out with each iteration. Look at current 3's, 5's, etc etc. Look at a Camry and see how big that is. Even my 2017 Civic is fairly large! It's not just the 911

Yeah, test drove a Civic SI sedan and was amazed to find out it was longer than our huge F30.

If the horizontal light bar is any indication, that's likely an AWD model ...

... and with four exhaust pipes? If they're real (always a question in this day and age), that's probably a Carrera 4S ...

... and damn dat a** is big. Might need that room to hide the hybrid-ness.

Anyone have ideas why this is? Cars keep getting bigger and bigger across the board. Just on the road, the F30 looks the same size as the E60.

Because people think bigger is better. With literally everything. Kardashian's. QX80's. It's endless.

Well 911 is their biggest car (save for Panamera and SUVs). M5 is not exactly small either you know. Besides for driving it's all about weight, not size - but I agree in big cities smaller 135i is a lot more enjoyable to park anywhere. However, there is a limit i would go, probably 135i is that limit. I mean I would not want to drive smart or fiat 500c lol

It's all what you're used to. When my wife had her 135i, my M Coupe was 10" shorter and just felt much easier to hustle through traffic. Now that she has an F30, I feel like I'm more at sea than driving a car. Captain to bridge...

Aside from the obvious size increase...

Am I alone in thinking it looks awful? Yeesh.

I used to own an Abarth with a piggyback and I hate to admit how much I enjoyed it. And with the rear seats folded down, I was able to make a run to Sams Club with it. It still had an odd seating position, but was fairly fuel efficient (36-37mpg), sounded glorious and was kind of quick with the piggyback. I’d still have it if we didn’t need a large van instead. I’d consider buying one used but only as an extra car.

Safety equipment, sensors, I guess sensors work best a certain height, if you look at any of the new Toyotas they're higher off the ground. Bigger airbags all around, more crumple zones.

Yeah... I used to like my 335 too, but I felt like they were too big, especially since the e21.

They've just been getting bigger and bigger, I couldnt take how bloated they got.

That's why I love my Miata, nice, small and tidy and can put it anywhere I want.

I loved my NB, still one of my favorite cars. But relative to its inspiration, it's always shocking to see how large it can seem.

Other cars with better layouts keep getting faster, the 911 has to keep getting wider to get the cg down there and be competitive.

It's not like anything is really challenging the GT cars, at least in terms of N'Ring times. I suppose the C8 is going to make a good attempt, but there's a bucket of unproven stuff going on there. The 911 layout and a heavily biased rear weight ratio are actually just about ideal for the track, just not for newbs and the untrained.
