Oh c'mon now, the kid who plays Carl is terrible and it's one of the weakest parts of the show. I have to be honest though, the acting isn't the reason why I watch these shows and it really doesn't bother me.

What does bother me is seeing Captain Jack Sparrow every time they show Nick. If he just looked like him that would be one thing, but my goodness, he has the same mannerisms and everything as some of Depp's aloof characters. To me, it just takes away from the seriousness of the show because I keep laughing at it while watching.

I'm going to be the dissenter and say I was rather disappointed in the series premier. To me it was way too long. I'm not asking for non stop action but come on. A hour and half to introduce the main characters? To me the episode could have easily been compressed into an hour with the same content. Granted I was watching this episode late in the evening. But I fell asleep watching it twice. It took three times for me to finally get through it.

I love the Walking Dead and have seen every episode, but Carl is the worst actor on the show. He is better than the first couple seasons, but he's pretty awful.

The acting in the Walking Dead is not on the same level as Breaking Bad, but the zombie violence makes it more watched.

Some of the performances in Breaking Bad have to be some of the best acting I've ever seen and I'm a huge movie buff too. Definitely the best acting I've seen on TV.

The other problem with this whole thing is that AMC is clearly milking this genre. The Walking Dead itself probably needs to end in season 6, but I doubt it will.

To have another zombie show with the same premise while the original is still shooting is pretty evident of a money grab. Not saying it won't be quality, but The Walking Dead could conceivably go on forever with the group running from place to place, killing zombies, killing old characters, introducing new ones, and fucking shit up.

I would say Walking Dead has already gone slightly down hill, with season 5 being the worst season, following a "meh" season 4 that had A LOT of boring episodes where production budget was clearly limited.

Vince Gilligan ended breaking bad at its most popular and I'm not sure that will be the case with the Walking Dead.

Writers/directors will never win.

Either they "milk it" to make as much money as possible (I mean let's be real, they aren't doing this for charity), or they end it when it's hugely successful and popular and everyone loses their shit about "how much more they could have done."

A prequel is a perfect fit for Walking Dead and wouldn't be surprised if it was planned from the outset. Doesn't seem like they are over-milking it compared to CSI, NCIS or similar from the major networks.

Might be true, but I think Breaking Bad did it perfectly. Told a great story and went out on top.

IMHO I have enjoyed the first two episodes. I got mad when they mentioned the next episode would be in two weeks

Still early. As someone mentioned before, they have to tell the story on how the outbreak started. I think it will be good and avoid some of the early mistakes TWD had. The daughter is super cute!

Why does it need to end? I keep hearing people say the series needs to end, why? As long as they can keep coming up with a good story line and the show is entertaining, why end it?

Just how it works. Nothing is good forever. It gets repetitive, waters down the story. I would agree with you, but it's already gotten worse in my opinion.

Breaking Bad was really solid throughout and probably had its best seasons in Seasons 4, 5 (split last season).

I know people keep mentioning BB, but you really can't compare the 2 shows -- especially since they are in different genres. BB will probably go down as one of the greatest shows ever because it never hit a lull and continued to get better and better.

I appreciate TWD for creating a new TV genre and figuring out it's early mistakes. Have they had some down seasons? Yes. But, as a whole, it's been pretty amazing TV. If you don't watching Talking Dead, then you're really only getting half the story. To see how hard that show is to produce and the special effects gives you a sense of how special the show is IMHO.

Now, talk about a show that went off the rails after the 4th season...Dexter!

I guess I just like zombies so much I never want it to end. ;D

Breaking Bad was incredible of course, but Walter never fully morphed into the man I wanted him to be. I wanted him to lose all humanity, I wanted to see him as the Kingpin and running the whole operation, etc.

I was actually rather disappointed with the last season and the way everything turned out. But whatever, it's not like I could come up something as good as Vince lol.

Some people are so dense it's not even funny. Of course they don't know how to kill them yet... the population doesn't even know what is going on.

This bothered me too, but then I thought about it some more. No one grabs the gun - not the druggie son, not the mom, not the boyfriend. Why?

Nick obviously has figured out that something sinister is going on but he still doesn't grab the gun. It's pretty simple - LA is a very liberal city; people there are scared of guns because "guns kill people". I thought it was actually pretty insightful of the directors to think of that.

Maybe I am missing something here... What is the point of this series??? It is pretty much carbon copy of "Walking Dead"...The same plot, the same story...The only difference is different actors and slightly different name ("Fear")...I can't find anything original here....

Please correct me if I am missing something here...

What you are missing is that this series is a prequel to The Walking Dead, showing us how the outbreak started.
