Pens are in the post season - awaiting others

I know you may not be a fan of his...but anyone catch Sid's one handed backhand shot to the upper corner. As a player...I can't even fathom the level these guys are on.

From a cup check...To getting a few chicklets knocked out...To taking Methot's finger off. Crosby's been in the news a good bit this week, and not always for the right reason.

I'm thinking he's getting a bit tired of getting his ass kicked all the time.

New York Rangers 3-0 Los Angeles Kings 0 , great game by Rangers and Raanta was awesome too ,first goal raised some iffy but was a good goal which counts
San Jose Sharks 2-7 Nashville Predators 7 , what a nasty game it was considering punches galore but the team whose player was punched punched the its rival
Florida Panthers 7-0 Chicago Blackhawks , Panthers were at their best

New York Islanders lost against Boston Bruins, the latter team ferociously needed to win and at the stage that every point is vital .Bruins has won last 5 games in New York as ending their 4 game losing streak

Minnesota Wild's struggle continues in March so is their march on .They've lost 7 games out of 8 .Last game lost against Vancouver Canucks 4-2 prior to that they lost in overtime 3-2 against Detroit Wings .

Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 Philadelphia Flyers , Bobrovski earned 40th win along with shutout his team

A few updates :

Pittsburgh 1-5 Chicago Blackhawks , home team missing 8 players and paid the price and maintained 4 game losing streak while Chicago Blackhawks clinched 24 road or away win in a single season macthed season high .
Washington Capital's Ovechkin claimed 14th hat trick as they won against Minnesota Wild in overtime 5-4 . A side note, most of his hat tricks have been from power play games where opponent missing one player minimum
Washington Capitals first ever team this season to reach 50 win mark as well
They played against Avalanche , ok enough with Capitals
Less than two weeks to play off stage

If Pittsburgh doesn't start getting healthy...They'll be a one and done. Too many players from the AHL, can't compete with the big boys.

Anyone else here want to see Tampa get in...or even better, Carolina? I'd love to see Boston fall yet again.

Definitely , Pittsburgh Penguins won against New York Rangers 4-3 in shootout however Lonqvist most likely was the best player in 1st period delivering some off the hook saves .
I think Edmonton Oilers also doing fine they booked a play off spot after a long while too .

I'm saying the cup is going to Caps(probably due, ya think), Pens(they know how to do it) or the Hawks(they still got it). You heard it here first....at this junction Ducks with the right match can squeak it out, particularly not getting Hawks or Pens on the road to the cup.

One bright spot in last night's Kings game: Quick is sprawled on the ice on the right side, but on the pass across he manages to lift his left leg and kick the puck out of the air/net at about mid-chest height. My groin pulled just watching it on replay. Even Holland couldn't believe he got beat like that.

Los Angeles Kings is officially out of play off round up .They pushed hard but that wasn't enough for them to pick up a point .
Washington Capitals crushed Columbus Blue Jackets but I didn't understand some nastiness in the game at all . It was a hectic game in its own right .May be fight for 1st spot was heating the things up

Sharks lost Thornton to an injury--don't know how bad yet, but without him Sharks have no chance. Probably won't make it past first round.

Tell me about it. Pens just announced - Letang is out 4 to 6 (MONTHS)

Daily who hasn't played in 7 weeks
Maatta to hasn't plated in 8 weeks
Malkin who hasn't played in 4 weeks
Hagelin who hasn't played in 5 weeks
Kunitz who just broke his ankle.
Rust, who just came back, went out last game again
Cullen, who just came back, went out last game again.
Couple others out too...really just trying to push through the depth right now.

Our coach has all these guys blocking shots in games that don't mean shit. WTF Malkin was doing blocking a shot head first, I'll never know.

I don't see the Pens going far this time around...it'd take a miracle.

Despite all injury tallies , Pittsburgh Penguins did a massive job beating Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 , for this season it was last game pre play off or last game in regular season
Congrats, Washington Capitals on their trophy , I think they're the strongest candidate for the Stanley Cup as well .

Once again I will probably pick the Caps again to win it all in the NHL.com bracket challenge.--they are very overdue..... and..... they keep screwing up my brackets when they go out so early.
