200K fine and lost of a 5th rounder for not following the rules......Its safe to say that the Seahawks and the Pete Carroll are cheaters just like the Patriots right?

Here you go haters Pats and Seahawks are boy scouts compared to the rest of the league. Jets alone have tampered with free agents twice, tripping players on the sidelines, they are also guilty or spygating the year prior to the pats and a former jets quarterback admits to deflategating. But of course that's nothing. Wonder how much attention there would be if the pats pumped artificial crowd noise into the stadium, or established a head hunting program

If this was the pats, they'd be banned from the league for a year

The NFL announced Monday the Seahawks will be fined $400,000 and forfeit their first week of organized team activities (three practices) next year, as well as a fifth-round pick in the 2017 draft because they’re repeat offenders. Coach Pete Carroll also was fined $200,000.
Yep, they are...

I'm a Seahawks fan and get to one or two games a season, but it's not like Pete Carroll didn't slink out of USC ahead of sanctions or anything ... he's not exactly an honourable, by the rules kind of guy.

That said, everybody in the NFL is bending the rules ... the 'Hawks and Pats get hammered because they do stand out for doing things their own way and they're just too successful at it. If they had a rep like the Steelers or were as pathetic as the Jags or Bucs, the league wouldn't lift a finger.

OP you realize this has nothing to do with "cheating" it's more of a protection thing. Do you even understand what the penalties are for? This just goes to show that you're looking to "pick a fight" rather than actually having an issue with a violation. Pretty sure that deflating balls to win a game is a much bigger violation that being passionate and working a bit too hard in the off-season. Which is a PLAYERS choice, I highly doubt Pete voices to intentionally have his players violate regulations.

First, there remains zero evidence that balls were deflated by the Patriots. The fact that the suspension was upheld has nothing to do with whether there was any evidence of misconduct on Brady's or the Patriots' part (there wasn't) but the limitations of judicial review and the irresponsibility of the PA in negotiating away a right to independent arbitration.

What the Seahawks were punished for was a blatant breach of the collectively bargained rules on contact. The rules are pretty clear and the Seahawks had already been sanctioned once before for the same issue. If you've been caught once before, the is no excuse for not knowing the rules and not adhering to them. These rules were negotiated specifically with player safety in mind and it is not up to the individual players to co-opt the league and PA and conspire with the team to breach the rules. And, given Pete Carroll's history at USC, I don't think you can actually use personal integrity as a defence on his part.

The Seahawks deserved what they got (unlike the Pats and Brady) but I doubt they're alone. If this was the Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, or Gaints ... this would have been swept under the rug by the league. That's the real issue.

Imagine the Goodell microscope on the Pats right now, with two wins during their suspension period? I can only imagine Roger's elation when he saw Garoppolo go down.

Didn't know 2psi of air was worth the 38 points the colts lost by. But I suppose if you don't believe in physics or Ideal Gas Law and you believe that this was intentional I guess you'd be a fool to believe the Patriots invented this tactic as much as you'd be a fool to believe the Patriots invented spygating but here you go enjoy

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...otballs-common

And here's one for the spy gate fans that the Jets actually were guilty of first
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/fo...ticle-1.276337

The Pats-Jets rivalry has been going on for how many years? Anyone want to venture a guess on which team Goodell worked for prior to becoming commissioner?

its a bigger violation? come on. People chose to blow the deflated ball situation out of proportion because it was the patriots, Tom Brady and bill belichick.
Now the best QB ever to play the game has to sit home and miss 25% of the season becuase rodger and cronnes needed to show they handle the biggest star like they would Ray Rice. It was a joke and the NFL head office is a joke.

TB 12 can throw a rock or a deflated beach ball across the field and still do his job. The Pats are already 2-0 anyways so you better make sure you check the psi on every football Brady puts his hands on from now on .

Lol back to "deflated" footballs....

GTFO with that BS. It was just a Goodell power struggle and thats why Brady is out 4 games.

Also, NFL took PSI data from games last season but still hasnt released the results. If you were a logically thinking person, wouldnt you think that if there was any data that backed up the NFL's position that they would have put that out in a full blown press conference complete with fireworks and music and confetti?

Hey, that's the way the ball bounces at times. The Patriots could very well be 0-6 in Super Bowls.

Rams 17, Pats 20
Panthers 29, Pats 32
Eagles 21, Pats 24
Seahawks 24, Pats 28

I won't put the Giant SB's as you might get butt hurt again.

Be thankful for your four wins.

By your logic they could also be 6-0 (I'll assume u forgot NE-CHI and NE-GB Super Bowls) since they lost by 3 and 4 pts to the Giants
