Just terrible.
Inside the car I want leather, metal and wood all very organic materials. The way everyone is complaint about the satin aluminum trim claiming it to be "chrome" leads me to think you would rather have black plastic everywhere there is chrome? If that's the case than go buy a 3 series, it has plenty of plastic to go around if that's your thing. For the rest of us I cannot wait until the material quality in this tickles down to the 3 series. I'm tired of plastic consuming a $50,000 car.

That interior OMG!! Loving all the aluminium touches, lights, and tech. The only thing I don't like about the new 7 series is the long wheel based...the rear doors like just odd and ugly, too stretched out.

The car really doesnt do anything for me. i think i look at bmws too much to appreciate it. while the finish on the inside is nice, it doesnt wow me. the outside is boring. i havent once seen a part of the car that made me say wow in a good way. I think they will correct all the issues with the exterior design on this with the new 5. that will be a looker if the f10 is their base to work off. f10 was the perfect bmw in my opinion.

I think it looks terrific! Combined with the amount of tech, safety, and luxury improvements, I'd count on seeing continued sales record threads on the front page.

Im glad that the M sport is actually sport, unlike the one on the F01. Looks better than the weird looking S-class. And minus the mad aluminium overdose, the interior is a lot more avant-garde than the plain looking one in the S-class. Just one question, how come the S-class, the old mans luxury cruiser has metal pedals, and the 7 series, the sporty ride, still goes with the simple rubber/plastic ones???

BMW had the opportunity start from scratch and develop an an over the top luxury sedan and it appears they resorted to design by committee driven by input from variety of focus groups

Wow that looks incredible. Best pictures I have seen yet . Almost makes me want to get another 7,but I think I'll wait another 30-40 years. If I was in the market for this size of car this is the clear winner imo. Blows the "giant c class" away.

Were these pics of an SWB or a LWB car?

It definitely looks shorter than the release pics from earlier this week.

Remember that we do NOT get SWB here in the US anymore and more importantly (and confusing) there is no Li either- just plain LWB 750i...

Like many others, I think the car is better than expected. Good, but not great. I'm still disappointed that BMW has not taken a bolder styling direction, especially in light of its especially beautiful Vision Concept vehicles.

One interesting thing of note on this car - it's obviously a US spec car, but BMW has left the ///M badge on the side. I wonder whether that little touch will make it into actual US production models.

Is it just me or from the middle of the rear door back does this car look strikingly similar to the last generation of the Infiniti M's? I like it, but the swooping rear glass into decklid look really doesn't do "it" for me. Come to think about it, maybe this is why the 4-door-coupe concept never gained ground in my household.

+1

definitely looks like your grandfather's BMW. remember in the 50's when they put chrome all over cars? sigh...

+1 again.

unfortunately, lots of companies seem to be doing the floating nav screen now. the screen in the new C-Class looks like somebody forgot to put it in the car until the last minute.

In my opinion, the lights look much better in this iDrive image than the actual car with laser lights:
