Help! Any jailbreak (ios) experts?!?!

Long story short; my brothers phone broke so I was going to send him mine. It is jailbroken so I figured if I hit the reset all setting and blah blah blah option it would just restore it to factory settings. Nope. Now it's stuck in a bootloop. Has been for the last 8 hours.

What do I do?! Can I save it?

you have to force the phone in to DFU mode then attached it your mac an install the latest software for the phone. There is tutorials on the web on how to do this.

I will research this foreign language you are speaking. Thank you for the push in that direction.

Turn the phone off. (Press and hold down the lock button and home button for about 10 seconds)
Once it's off, press and hold just the home button, while doing that plug the phone into iTunes. You will see the apple logo, and 5-10 seconds later you will see a "connect to iTunes" logo. That's when you can let go of the home button, iTunes will say phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.

Restore and it should work. If you get any error messages post it here and I'll help with troubleshooting the error.

It will work.

But if you update to the latest iOS it will not be jailbreakable.
Not until a jailbreak becomes available for it.

That part is fine. Do you know if it is still unlockable? Or does that require development with each iOS update?

You mean carrier lock?
If it has been unlocked by a carrier at one point in the past, it should be unlock for good.

If it wasn't unlocked by a carrier but by a jailbreak tweak, then you'd probably need to jailbreak it to unlock again.

If you need it factory unlocked feel free to contact me. If you have an AT&T account they should do it for free, if not I can help.

Like others have stated, DFU and restore. It fixes all jailbreak issues.

Almost a month later....it worked! thanks guys!

He got a new phone already (because I was dragging ass) where can I sell this puppy and make a decent buck ($150-$200)? Are those cash for phone websites scams? Ebay? Or just plain ol'craigslist....or the classifieds on here maybe? Does anyone have any experience doing such?

Trade it in at an Apple Store for credit.

I do not shop at apple stores, so I don't see that being beneficial. I did not know they did that, though, that is good to know.

I will sell it to you, Douche, for the low price of $199.99

Thanks I'm set.

You have an iPhone but you "don't shop at apple stores". Interesting...

My iPhone 5 is worth 279 bucks if I trade it in at apple. Seems better than selling it online (it has scratches and dents that people wouldn't like to have, but Apple doesn't care).

It may be a deal for you to get better dollar on the phone for a new one, and then resell the phone as new somewhere for a little less than apple's price.

If you're into that shit.

Yeah, I've only purchased through AT&T, but I see where you're going with that. Not a bad idea. The phone is basically in "perfect" condition. The only visible marks are tiny marks by silent switch. I wonder what they will give me for it...thanks!
