Am I the only idiot who broke off the seat trim?

So as title says, My long coat somehow got stuck on the side trim that houses the seat position buttons. Looked up parts and it seems to be fairly cheap. but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the side seat trim off. Anyone else have to deal with this issue without taking it to dealer? They want $300 min labor

I just did it myself, send a pic of your seat.
You will need a drill to drill out rivets, and also a gun to put in 3 rivets to hold it. the fat clown before me broke it off.
The outer trim pops off, and push to the rear, but the inside trim that mounts to the seat, is riveted on with 3 rivets.. I just replaced this myself.

Dont forget the rivets.. you need 3 or 4 if you want a spare.

Hopefully you’re using the desktop version. If so, you dont “send a pic…you upload it.

If the image has a URL address…then you can just insert HTML tags around the image as you type your reply…or you can use the insert image icon that’s at the top of the message box with all the other tools (see 1st and 2nd iimages below).

Or you can upload the images from your device (try to keep the image resolution down around 800x600…really large images like 3500x5000 take up a lot of bandwidth). To do that, scroll down below the message box and look for the MANAGE ATTACHMENT button. Once you click that button you will see another button to choose the files you want…once you’ve selected the files from your device…then select the UPLOAD BUTTON (see the 3rd & 4th images below).

Once you’ve finished…then proceed to REPLY to finish.

Ok, I got the part...but like an idiot...I can't figure out how to remove the old panel and install the new.

besides the dealership that wants $300 to replace it. Where else can I take it?

i replaced this same part, its not hard to do at all.
You need a rivet gun, amazon, the rivets from BMW and the trim.
you take it apart and it takes about 15 min to put back together.

Yes, amazon, 10 bucks..
the part you buy, goes in first but you have to drill 3 rivets to get the old one out. This is a super simple job.

Follow these..
