Which of these used 911s or R8 should I buy?

997 Turbo
991 4S
2009-2014 R8 V10

Help.

The 997 is the cheapest
The 991 looks the best in blue/grey
The R8 is the flash vehicle and has more HP

The 997 has the best mileage most likey
The 991 has the most up to date gearing and interior
The R8 will drop panties.

Help. I've targeted these

I like the R8...but I'd downgrade to the v8 to get the manual. More rare than a 911 (at least here).

Turbo would be next on my list.

Not sure of others, but I can't get your links to work.

links aren't working for me either

R8 in person def is a show stopper. The turbo is a better car but if you want attention I would go with the r8. Us car peeps would know the turbo but non car people wouldn't know. So you want a car for you I would go with turbo if you want a car to flex go with the r8. Just my 2 cents

You can get the first gen with a manual in either the V8 or V10. A glorious, gated manual.

Probably would go 4s... it's the newest car of the bunch... the older R8 and 997 Turbo have both aged like dinosaurs.

Outside of 996's, a used 911 is pretty much a used 911. The same for the last 52 years. I like the dynamics of the 997 much more than he 991 but would prefer a GT3 or at least a non awd model.

Links don't work. 4S heavily depends on how it's built with options. 997 turbos with manual are holding value very well. I've never driven an R8 but I'm not as enthralled with them as most people. Seems like it would be a pain to get in and out of all the time since it sits so low (damn I sound old), and I don't like the interior as much as a Porsche with full leather and (if you can find it) deviated stitching. I'm partial to the black/red and black/yellow leather/stitching combos on a Porsche. You really need to drive them all and see how you feel....I've driven many cars that I thought looked great on paper, then I got in, went for a drive, and thought "eh....not that impressed", Range Rover specifically coming to mind, but plenty of others too.

What do you want to use the car for? Cruising? Track days? Showing off downtown?

A friend of mine has a GT4 and R8. He says the GT4 is a clearly better track car and doesn't really plan on tracking the R8 at all. His description of the R8 is, "big comfy rocket."

Of those, I'd got 997 Turbo if you're planning on holding onto it for a while. IMO they'll be a timeless model.

If you're looking to jump into something new within the next 2-3 years I'd go R8 for now. But I also feel the first gen R8s look dated and you might get bored more quickly than you realize.

Not sure of your exact budget but you could try and jump into a 991.1 GT3. Prices have been dropping ever since the 991.2s rolled out, plus you get that 10 year engine warranty.

Logic tells me 997 turbo, but just about anything with a V10 is going to make it a really hard choice for me. That sound......

997 Turbo every day of the week. The Audi looks cool, but the 911 Turbos demand serious respect. Incredibly fast and by many accounts reliable too.

If you can’t get the R8 with the V10/manual, then definitely get the 997. Manuals sports cars are a dying breed. Manual sports cars with a V10 are pretty much extinct..but it basically comes down to how you feel about each car after you’ve driven them.
