I love my i3, and I timed my lease for the Model 3 release, which looks like it will be for naught. No matter, I like my i3 so much I plan on extending another 6 months and then see what happens.
Yeah, I've talked to a number of owners who have kept them longer than planned. We'll probably do an Owner's Choice on the i3s, non Rex.

I do love its steering wheel.
Curb weight and track ability will matter for sure if these will replace gas sports car.

one thing to keep in mind is that for many owners the EV isn't the only car. It's a 3rd or 4th car so it kind of doesn't matter if it's not trackable. If it's fast and fun and looks good, it's fine. Owners will likely have a gas pure sports car for track days already

It's a little loose, and concerns the targa roof.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier, I know someone asked. The price is $200K, you can reserve it for $50K. Founder's edition is $250K due immediately. Not sure what that includes for additional $50K as the base model does 0-50 in 1.9 seconds, maybe the 250+ top speed is only on certain models.

Ridiculous numbers for sure, but are we going to pretend the car is not ugly AF?

Hopefully Musk and the boys will learn to weld before setting their ambitions so high.

Lol at the shitty cgi.
I can't see exactly which model, but they're clearly Michelin pilot sport somethings....

1000nm is impressive, especially from a standing start. 3 motors and 1.9 seconds means it's awd.

Ive got exactly zero experience with cars this powerful, but even the most powerful wrx's don't tend to spin their wheels in a straight line in the wet, so I expect regular sticky tires would have no issue getting the power down to 4 wheels.
Its 10,000nm not 1000

This is insane... I am not really a fan of electric cars based on feeling but the 3 is the one that they need to nail down. I hope that car is a huge success, it's what the company's mainstream success lies on. This is a crazy performance car but I think all in all, most people are looking for feeling in cars of this price / class more than absolute speed.

Crazy to think it shames Six Flags Superman rollercoasters 0 to 100mph time, and that coaster launches hard.

Superman - 7 seconds
Tesla - 4.8 seconds

It is game over. The entire car world is about to radically change.

The upcoming disruption is exactly why I bought my soon to be arriving M2.

Considering how vastly superior the electric motor is to internal combustion, it’s a great change.

ouch ok. yeah, that makes a difference... I take back what I said.

I would not want to be paying for the tires on that thing... I reckon you'll be changing them about monthly.

Props to Tesla if they can pull this off. But, in 2020, I'll still take a N/A boxer 6, V8, V10 or V12. (which will all sadly be extinct) To me, driving is more than just how fast a car is, it has to be engaging aurally.
