MAX A/C Not Available Below Freezing, but why?

Just learned that MAX A/C is not available when it’s below freezing out.

I often use this feature when leaving the gym – even in the winter – which I find preferable to opening the window, but never realized this.

My car just had its battery replaced, and its HVAC control panel was replaced this past summer; I wonder if new programming is to account.

Anyway, anyone know the reason why this feature is disabled below freezing?

Thanks.

This is standard. Even the e66/e65 had this feature restriction.

Okay; thanks; yes, I've since learned it's to prevent condenser damage.
