Name: b7.jpg
Views: 2488
Size: 18.2 KB

Carscoop: Alpina B7 based on the new generation BMW 7 Series will make its debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March.

Furthermore, they learned that the Alpina B7 will use a modified, tuned up version of the popular V8 4.4 liter engine, that debuted in the X6.

The tuned up V8 will produce 507 hp compared to the 400 hp found in the standard version of the engine. Also, the new Alpina B7 delivers 7 hp more than the previous B7 which uses a supercharged V8 4.4 liter engine.

oh man..507 is ok but it should have been more than that , how much torque again?....

it doesnt show any improvement from the previous B7 in terms of power..

if u ask me , that thing needs a 5.0 V10 TT , not 4.4 V8 tt , some 580horses and around 800Nm.. 0 to 100 in 4.5secs and some 330kmh..

I think 507 is about right, because of the 760Li which will have around 540

FWIW the last B7 was more powerful than the last 760i by about 40hp. I can't imagine that the 760i would go TTV12. Just doesn't seem right for a BMW. I could see a blown V10, but that's about it.

Not too surprised about the HP numbers. It's a 25% gain over stock. Assuming they stuck with stock internals, upgraded the intercooler, and reprogrameed the DME, that's a pretty healthy gain.

if there is gonna be a 760 V12 with over 500hp then I dont see a point of B7 at all without some 600hp....

I know the last B7 was more powerfull then the 760, but this time, assuming that the B7 will actually have "only" 507hp, that won't be the case, because the new 760i will definitely have more than that. As far as the engine choices go i thing it has to be a TTV12, if BMW wants to compete with the MB S600.
