Homeless Man Found Dead

With all the celebs dying today I thought I would give this random homeless guy a shout out. Still a person but likely not to get noticed otherwise.

Missing homeless man found dead inside vacant home.
http://wkrn.com/2016/04/18/missing-h...e-vacant-home/

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A homeless man who was reported missing nearly a month ago is believed to have been found dead inside a vacant Nashville home last week.

Police have tentatively identified the remains as Frank Baxter Jr.

According to a release, a trustee entered the home in the 2200 block of Herman Street last Wednesday and discovered the 70-year-old man’s body lying on the floor in front of a fireplace.

Police said Baxter’s Tennessee identification card was recovered at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine his exact cause of death.

Foul play is not suspected.

Baxter was reported missing by his brother-in-law on March 26.

I actually find this more sad than the celebs dying.

It also irks me when news articles state that a person who died was a "beautiful" person, ie. "A beautiful, young student was killed..." So if someone was ugly and killed, it's not as tragic? :

I agree with your logic. If that's the case, however, isn't it equally tragic when a celeb dies as when a homeless person dies?

I mean that in this particular case, the man was likely dead for awhile and was not found. Also many homeless people suffer from mental illness and don't get the help they need.
In the case of Doris Roberts' death, she lived a seemingly great life, was successful and lived a long time (90 years). So I feel less sad for her.

I get sos's from usa often. People I pay to handle my cases (hobby when I was there, so I was footing the bills) haven't been delivering stuff and not using the contacts I gave them. I've seen how people pick the least desperate homeless they help since he/ she is the coolest one in a corner.

People sponsor one person who you see often. Let them talk to you. It takes a few bucks from you every now and then, but there are big issues behind them ending up in the streets.

Poverty and crime go together. It is our call if we want more cops or more mental care, if we send people to battles, a body bag is cheap compared to the aftercare. And if we save there, we will have yet an other lost generation.

A person died. Someone was his uncle, daughter, sister or a mother. Even if he didn't drive a bmw, he must have mattered to someone.

Op, I ruined your thread by being serious. Sorry. a good call to start this.

I gotta agree on this one. Also, everyone was such a great and wonderful person, posthumously. I mean, no,one ever says, "Meh. He was aight." Or, "Yeah, it's sad. He was an asshole, but, you know, still sad." Not everyone is generous, kind, caring, nice, smart, ambitious, etc... Everyone dies, even the assholes.
Fwiw, I think this post is a great idea and a great reminder that everyone is important to someone - every life has value. Life is precious. RIP.

That shit always cracks me up.. Around here occasionally you hear about some thug form Camden or NYC get gunned down. The family always talks about how good of a kid he was. Cause you know, it's normal for good kids to run around with Glocks at 2am.
