Sara504 inspired thread

I know many of the youngsters in the forum can't contribute because they are all on their first vehicle and and some of them didn't even buy it.

But for everyone else, what vehicle purchase do you regret the most and why? Conversely, which vehicle did/do you enjoy the most and why?

I have to spoil the fun here, I've never regretted any vehicle purchase I've made. I usually do obsessive amounts of research and test drives prior to purchase, and that has worked out for me.

Though I must admit fails are far more interesting than successes.

^^ yeah I was going to say that it never really regretted buying any of my vehicles, even the pieces of shit I had when I was younger. But I do regret getting rid of a few vehicles. Most notably would be my 2004 Acura MDX followed by my 2008 Volkswagen GTI

Honestly, my E90 has been both my most satisfying and most regrettable car purchase.

Regrettable because the depreciation has been stupid. Satisfying because all my other cars were/are Hondas.

Same here, i've enjoyed every vehicle i've owned. But still, if regret is the wrong word, which one did you enjoy the least and why?

I enjoyed my 1979 Honda Civic the least, because well, it was a 1979 Honda Civic

Least: 86 Grand Am. Hey, it was my Mom's and I needed a car. She sold it to me at Blue Book. Nothing says love like a square deal.

Most: My E92. I have not owned too many fun cars and the F82, I don't have enough seat time. I hope to mod it a bit once I get the F87, but I gotta go with the E82.

Least enjoyed had to be my 99' Civic, one time it literally turned off mid drive on the freeway @ 80mph and I had to try and start it again because I had lost all power. Fortunately I did, but that thing was breaking down a shitload towards the end of its life.

I also ran it into a lot of things, which is why God gave us shitty cars when we first learn how to drive so we don't ruin the nice things later on in life.

Regret that I shelled out the money for an 2013 Mustang GT 5.0.
On the very first drive the car started to develope an burning-oil-smell in the cabin.
2 Weeks later my diff started leaking...I allready shelled out money for a few performance upgrades, thought its a brand spanking new car, so it would be ok.
Fail! When I 2 month of owning discovered rust spots and flaking paint on my hood, shit hit the fan and I brang it back to the dealer.

My M3 E92 is the one that I enjoy by far the most!
Having had the chance to own ( no lease, loan ) ALOT of high powered cars, I found an perfect allaround car.
Love the ///M suspension setting, love how it shifts, steers. How the motor responds ...just awesome.
As I mentioned, so many cars and wasted money, that finally brang me to the real deal!
An old ///M3 E92 and I couldn't be happier
The bumb on the hood, the instrument cluster...cold start heat cycle...cushy but still sporty seats...snorkel sound at woot...wide stance....and my beautyful carbon fiber hood.
Today I washed it and found rock chips in the hood and bumper, even on my windshield.
It didn't got me mad, it just showed me that my car needs to be accepted and respected for what it is. Has it's scarrs, wich just shows how proudly the owner is, driving it all year long. And showing its true nature, beeing one of the last BMW V8 warriors

I had a Datsan 210 that was not too fun....got rear ended and totalled..then the check from insurance came and I bought a nice, used RX7...I went from regular guy in high school to super cool guy....life changing at the time.

Least enjoyed was probably my '02 Accord just because it wasn't what I wanted at the time. My parents forced me into it because they wanted to give my Civic to my little brother.

Instead of getting the car I wanted, we got that turd because (to quote my father) "I trust this car". Turns out he also trusted that I would pony up the money for all the shit that was wrong with it... lots of good stories though.

I don't really regret buying any of them.....I do, however, regret selling some of them.

I regret selling my 240sx the most.

The car that I liked the least was my 2011 VW Jetta. It had a 2.5L 5 cylinder with a 5MT. I traded my 545i Sport for this car. I thought it was the logical choice because the E60 was giving me problems and I did a lot of driving so the 5 banger made sense over the V8. 2 years and 50k+ miles later, I had enough. Traded it in on my GLI. So much better of a car than the Jetta even though it's still a Jetta. Kinda. Lol

I have a really hard time choosing but i think i have to go with the Land Rover DiscoveryII as being least enjoyed. But i really loved it. It was just a gutless wonder though. 250hp and 350tx coming out of a Buick pushrod V8 designed in the 1970's. Loved going off road with it. Super comfortable, plenty of towing for my needs. But man, if you had to pass someone, make sure you're going down hill with the wind behind you before you do.

I don't know if i can decide between the ones i enjoyed the most. 3 way tie between E36 M3, E46 M3 and E92 M3.

Garage List
2010 135i Coupe  [5.26]
Worst: Nissan Altima SE-R - total parts bin car with the worst clutch of any car I've owned.

Best: I REALLY liked the 135i and S4 but I also really enjoyed the GTI. A very tough call...

The Exige was pretty badass but it was built like such shit that it made it hard to love.

Don't really regret buying any of them. Do regret selling my smart fortwo and Suburban 2500 the most.

Edit: Actually regret selling my racecar the most. Although, 6 years later it has shown it's face again and I was asked if I wanted to drive it again! Fuck ya!

Best: My E90
Worst: 2009 Honda Civic. Built like shit. Only positive thing it had going for it was that I could literally floor it everywhere and still get 32 mpg.

Funny isn't it. Not only did people not enjoy them, but they seemed to break down often. Strange that everyone would rather have the far less reliable BMW over a honda.....

Volvo S60R... On paper it was great, but in real life it's epic fail. Plus no one made miss for it until years later.

Best ever is a 2-way tie:

2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS - because it was badass, practical, and never broke. Plus I got it for my wife's 25th birthday.

2012 Mitsubishi EVO X - it did everything I wanted and it was just so fun to drive. Soooooo easy to make BIG power.

I love BMWs but they either broke too much or just left something on the table to regret.
