I regret not trying harder in school, getting into a good collage, getting a job at an investment banking firm, bank roll money until I was 30, quit that job, and then do what I do now for the rest of my life only with a seven figure cushion to sit on versus this Ikea chair that is hurting my butt.

I regret not being born in the late 60s so I wouldn't have rode the IB wave on the fuckin downhill.

Some basics:

1. Drive, beyond any desire to hang out on weekends, go to the gym, watch TV, have social life, gf, and just work 80-100 hours a week

2. Ability to eat shit and or dickmeat sandwich with a smile all day, everyday

3. Intelligence and/or pedigree Top bschool (Start associate level) or top undergrad with a concentration in accounting, finance, math, econ (Start analyst level). Or you be like me and had graduated from a top state school and be hungrier than the guy next to you on the trading desk and sell your soul to go into banking

4. Work ethic - see 1 and 2

5. Be hungry

6. Really love making money

7. Really love the business

8. Be polished.


I don't know... I did and now I'm just a cog in the corporate wheel. I miss being able to hustle and bust my ass to make $$$$$. There just aren't enough VP-level spots in the business. The most vulnerable to being laid off.

Hmm, maybe I should have said, "Sold homes in Orange County from 2002-2007" and then do what I am doing now, haha.

Ridiculous to think that there are real estate agents who still take photos with potatoes selling houses. Then again, I am not a great negotiator because I won't look someone in the eye and lie to them for a couple thousand dollars. My integrity is worth a bit more than that.

I regret seeing words invented like ragret. Its sort of like welp to me.

I know this is how languages evolve but I don't get it. I don't want to get it. I need to loosen up I suppose. Maybe I will come up with few new words and get with the program.
