Switch from Cayman GTS to a Nissan GTR?

M4 has ruined me. Did euro delivery in Sept on a 16 M4 YSB, 19s and manual. Had the time of my life drove 2500 miles all over Europe, 160MPH at times, car was an absolute pleasure.

So the story goes like this, I get home and drive My Cayman GTS that all of a sudden feels very sedate meaning no torque. Now its not like I didn't know this but my god the difference on the street is huge. I test drove a 14 track edition GTR and was completely at a loss for words with how it drove. One thing has led to another where I'm in a position to switch out of the Cayman and into the GTR. I know this is a stupid problem to discuss but would you guys do it? I have the opportunity to build a GT4 but having specced my GTS the way I have, cant help but think its only 20/25% better. I tend to keep cars an average of 12-18 months and enjoy all aspects of them but have been very partial to both BMW and Porsche. I have owned over the last 15 years various models of M3s and 911s, but have seldom ventured away from German brands. I know, stupid dilemma. Your thoughts

Seems like you go through cars very quickly anyway, so just do what your gut tells you. If you make a mistake, you'll move on to the next one in 12 months anyway...

I know this is the dumbest thing to read or even comment on. But, between the pull of the M4 and now the pull of the GTR, am wondering whats godzilla like to own.

I'd recommend taking a jump at the GTR if you're only looking at a 12-18 month ownership period. The GT-4 will have better resale value, but GTR is an experience that one with the means should sample at least once.

Oh dear god just wait for the Porsche nut swingers to show up here and tell you how delusional you are for 1) feeling that way and 2) even THINKING about selling the Cayman

EfEightyM3 in 3, 2, 1.................he may not show up here but if you post this in the "vs" section just watch what happens.

Had a Gt-4 on the track the other day and it was unbelievable. It's obviously not a comparison to a GTR - two different ways to go fast. Cant go wrong with either, I suspect. I've never even driven a GTR, but I have a 991 GT3 and the GT4 blew my mind.

Not looking to cause a stir with the Porsche crowd. Ultimately, don't track as often as I could as life's gotten in the way. GTR didn't seem to be a bad way to go at this point. One rule I try to stick by is never build the same car in succession.

I would keep the Cayman GTS and replace the M4 with the GTR.

But if you just can't handle not having instant thrust then I guess you have to get rid of the Cayman. It will never feel fast again in that way.

If I could keep multiple cars I'd want them to be more different than similar.

If you want to attract a bunch of men around your car, by all means get the GTR.

Exactly my thoughts. M4 seems like a mix of the better attributes of both the GTR and the GT4 (although not as good as either IMO).

I will be happy to solve this dilemma by selling you an Alfa 4C!

Really, the GT-R is incredible. I would go for it.

If you like small cars like your Cayman, check out the 4C though. Quite a machine.

Stop wondering what if and just Get the GTR already.

Lead by example. I practice what I preach. Get what you want, regardless of who thinks what. Don't regret or wonder. If I were you am getting that GTR pronto.

I am a BMW guy. Had 6 of the last model 3 series and am stuck on my E92. Funny I can't trade it even for a new 4. There isn't enough there to make me part with it. Truth be told in May 2014 I cross shopped and test drove M4, Posche 911 Carrera 4S ( instant love struck), but I took home the 2014 Range Rover Sport Supercharged. That think turned out to hell on wheels though. That reputation is not entirely unfounded. Worst car I ever had by a mile and that includes my many Past clunkers! 10 month 22 dealer visits and 6500 miles I was so fed up I stopped driving it and wanted it gone at almost any cos. Hated it with a passion. I traded it for 2015.5 Ranve Rover Sport Autobiography that is hands down best car I have ever had. You can hardly believe they came from the same line. I am in love with this thing like I am with the E92. Oh the range will stomp any stock 435 /235 etc etc. and for $1900 I'll soon do a pulley swap and tune take it to 630hp start embarrassing corvettes. My tuned 335 is faster still, but this thing can go foreve in total comfort.

Can you believe I passed on a 911 Carrera 4S for an SUV? Me neither! But I still have no regrets. In fact they cost within a few hundred dollars of each other, so it's not a money thing. The rover does whatitdoes extremely well, and it appealed to me. I did a polling on the Range Rover forum and realized I was no aberration at all. Most of the people with new model Range Rover and another car have.... 335, 535 or 2/1 series.

So no we understand you. There is nothing wrong. You need to stray a little otherwise life would be so boring and predictable. Test drove the M235 liked it a lot. Might trade the 3 for that, but waiting ti see what else peeks my interest. No hurry at all which is good.
