Finally Got There...

I'm an old reformed Mercedes guy...

The conversion started with a used 97 328is.
Next 07 335i
Next a 09 535i xDrive and a 09 X3.
Now a 750i.

I have to say there is no comparison when it comes to ride, comfort and performance. I thought the 3 and 5 series were cool, and not saying they aren't, but I don't think I'll ever go back.

I never liked the X3 and was glad to get rid of it. I replaced it with a 2011 Chevy Equinox and personally I think it's better than than the BMW X3 or X5 any day. Sad though that the Chevy has about as many American made parts in it as a BMW. Engine made in Canada, Transmission made in Mexico with the entire vehicle assembled in Canada.

the current X3 seems pretty crappy, but Chevy Equinox being better than X5? you must be joking

how can you even compare the two, there is about a 30K price difference in the cars, its like saying honda civic is better than 335

Higher price does not always mean a better product you know...

that is very true in some cases, but in 30K price difference between 2 cars, i sure hope not, i know that you might pay extra for the brand name but not 30K extra, you have to be paying for something else if you decide to drive a 50K car vs. 20K car.

and when you say one car is "better" than the one, it is very subjective. Better is in "faster"? "quality"? "comfort"? "reliability"?, if X5 doesn't beat chevy in all those categories I'd be very surprised

chevy better than an x car
The new X3 it s the best in its class (chasis, engines, technology and so on...)
X5 is also one of the best in its class (the best in my opinion) but depends of each person's taste... What are your arguments for chevy (except the price)??
