I work at the Porsche store down the block. Usually, the deposit is non-refundable after the car locks into production and we're unable to change the order to a non-individual color.

Don't want to be forced into a color I don't want. I'll have to check NY state laws on the deposit. I can assure you I'm getting everything in writing before I give them a dollar. I've already explicitly stated everything must be in writing signed by both parties. They agreed.

Due to the lead time I'd be getting one of the first MY17 which is nice!
Not sure why you just don't use a forum dealer that has a lot of ED & Individual experience - they can deliver to any dealer for re-delivery. Ping Jimmy and see what he says GOLFFRR

What does that even mean? AFAIK there are no "factory" stores - all dealerships are independent businesses and have nothing to do with BMW AG. Some of these businesses have more experience with M sales, ED, and Individual orders than others. Given Jimmy's shop has the top M sales person in the US, and they do a LOT of EDs and Individuals, seems like they'd be worth a shot, especially since you're trying to do something unique. BTW, I have nothing whatsoever to do with them.

I just scratched the deal with them. Their deposit request is absurd. I'm working with David Aviles now on an order.

I don't know why it would look different. They have a fairly consistent format for all showrooms regardless of ownership as part of their branding initiative.

I would assume they can't have any special access to allocations or anything else for that matter lest they'd create a mutiny among the private stores.
