Tire noise on the G12 with Michelin obnoxiously loud?

For quite a while now I have been unhappy with the noise entering the cabin from the tires of the car. Ours is shod with the Michelin MXM4 from the factory. I started noticing increasing tire noise around 12k miles, but we had some roads resurfaced where we drive mostly and I just thought it was that. However, it is quite apparent now that it is not the case, the tires are just exceedingly loud. We now have just over 22k miles on the car.

Has anyone else had this issue? For a $100k plus luxury car, I'm really finding it diminishing my ownership experience. It's not BMW issue, of course, other than their choice for OEM tire. I'd put new tires on it but it's a leased vehicle and don't really want to pay the $$.

The tires out of the factory seem to have noise at a lower mileage. I feel they are of lower quality. For tires with the best acoustic performance use Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Continental DW non-run flats.

I replaced the OEMs on my 335i, which I think were Dunlops with the Super Sports and they were great.

I'm in the same Boat as OP problem is we need a factory allowed tire on the car for our lease turn in.
Otherwise you pay for a sec of MPSS and when the car is turned in you have to pay for a set of factory approved tires

Never had problems with Pilot Super sport's , but for safety on lease keep your current tires and use the softer and quieter tires. At lease turn in swamp them out.
