I drove both an S550 coupe and an S63 AMG coupe before year-end 2015 and, although I did like the cars, I just couldn't get past the column-mounted shifter. Felt a little 1980s-era Buick / Oldsmobile to me. Out of place for such a nice GT.

Agree on the shifter. Very out of place.

When it gets down to it, there just aren't a lot of good options out there.

Might just do a RR sport SC and then try and pickup a 911 of some capacity in the summer.

I drove a supercharged this morning and was very impressed. Had a deep throaty exhaust and plenty of getup and go. I imagine the SVR is that much more impressive.

The S Class is like driving your living room around.

If I didn't need AWD, I would consider an M6 Gran Coupe.

Thought about the e63, but the styling isn't all that exciting, and it's due for a total redesign next year.
I had the same thoughts with the M6 GC, have you thought about the Alpina, close in performance with AWD.

Guys currently I have at home these cars

M6 GC 2015
Gl350 cdi 2015
Xj l supersport 2015
And a S550l 2010(i think)

In the past year I've also had a RRS Supercharged and a jaguar xfr-s and xkrs

Each car is totally unique, personal preference for me is the m6, it's my first m car and I'm enjoying it infinitely. It's the only one out of the above lot that I feel you can have a connected drive. It's a car to drive, not to be driven in.

The Xjl is without a doubt a stunning car, mine is pretty well specced as well and I was surprised by how effortless it is. It's a good balance between the s and the m. Great seats, good power just a bit wallowy.

S, good car to be driven in, not a fan otherwise.

Gl hate it (needed 7 proper seats)

RRS, it's a great machine, Svr would be better as I would imagine that it wouldn't lag as much as the RRS. Good luck finding one without any issues though. Mean creaked and groaned like hell.

Xfrs and xkrs were absolutely nuts. A bit dated interior wise but nuts to drive. New version of xf doesn't have an rs out yet otherwise I would have probably gone for that instead of the m6!

Any pics or questions you would like let me know!

Exclusive - In boost to self-driving cars, U.S. tells Google computers can qualify as drivers
Once this come true, I really like to buy myself another 7 series with self-driving cars feature and do European delivery.
BMW really want to define what is a luxury car.

What did you end up with or are you still on the hunt?

The fit and finish on the S is hands down better, though I can't stand the steering column shifter, and the nav screen is overly large, and screws up the flow of the dash.

The Benz has more presence than the 7, but it offers almost zero steering feel.

The 7 is certainly not ugly, but it's by no means a head turner.

The a8/s8 is a viable contender but I'm not crazy about the Mac truck grille on Audi's.

Jag XJ is apparently awesome to drive but the styling is somewhat awkward.

Drove the Maserati QP and felt the All Wheel Drive car was underpowered.

Anyone else having a similar conundrum?

I can't find a big daily driver sedan that ticks all the boxes.

Panamera drives well, but I can't get over the back.

Still on the hunt. Revisited the 7 and started to think with the M sport pack, it might get the job done but I can't get passed the fact that I don't think it has the presence that an S class with a sport pack does. It doesn't look like a car worth 110k. I just wish the S class was a bit more engaging to drive.

QP looks too much like a ghibli, which I don't think very highly of. S8 I like, but don't love, and it is soon to be replaced.

Kinda thinking of throwing in the towel on the all wheel drive, as i really like the m6 GC, but then I can't sit 4 adults comfortably in the car as the back of the GC is tight.

Curious as to what the new panamera will look like, but having owners 3 911's, getting any other kind of Porsche is a little bit of mental hurdle for me.

I'm at a loss.

S is out for me since I'd have to wait a year and a few months for the LCI. When is the new Panamera due?

If money is not an issue I would consider Audi S8 Plus. It's large and sporty (600+ HP I consider sporty) which can not be said about other large cars.

I hear they are from the ground up redesigning the series. I was less than impressed with the s8 plus overall and that's after driving one for the better part of an afternoon last March.

Yes!
How do you compare between 2017 BMW 7 VS 2017 Panamera! (Loaded Version)

I like the new Panamera a lot - and think it may be the answer. Huge improvement to previous generation. Actually resembles a 4 door 911 now.

You can build the car on Website for now.

How to make a fair comparison?

wait until the car is delivered to publications and buyers. Until then, speculation only.
