Somewhere, a German design engineer is experiencing intense revulsion. To each his own, but I think it's defiling a thing of beauty to turn it into some urban pimp daddy hot ride. Too much money & not enough maturity if you ask me.

even BMW replaces the chrome with paint in the sport option, he just went a little further than the sport kit. I just wonder about the longevity?

I think the chrome on the front and rear bumpers of the M package cheapens the look of the car. (I am specifically referring to the chrome above the rear tailpipes and under the front grille) It's intersting because they eliminate the chrome with the shadowline trim yet add the chrome on the bumpers for the M. I have seen some of the new 2011 M packages with painted bumper parts versus the chrome. Does anyone know if this is standard on the new M packages?

IIRC only the 2010 model year M bumpers had the chrome parts. I think the 2011 model year they changed it to a black version like the shadowline trim look.

We decided to leave the front grilles and the side marker surrounds chrome, to tie in the chrome lip on the ISS wheels. The matte black vinyl was also chosen to accent the matte black centers on the wheels.

Thanks for looking!
