I'm just noticing there's some black tape along the edges of the tailights, so i'm thinking that's got to mean they have done some changes, right?

Ya, there's some black tape, but that is common on these mules. The tape is not covering an area where you would expect to see a change in the lamp design.

All the answers should be out next week, the 25th at the latest.

Update:

OK great...so we have a long wheel base 3 series for China and maybe the US. What about the 7er?

The US does not need a 3erLi - These cars have a better understanding in China to their purpose , For the rest of the world the 3er is without a doubt - The Sport sedan and the standard car reinforces this.
The US can buy a 5er or 7er. Then again if BMW did offer the 3erLi it would be exported from China and the usual jingolistic phrases on non-German built BMW's will become apparent once again.

The 7er is BMW being BMW. It will launch away from the show but still in China. The 7er of all production built half now goes to China and the F01/F02 biggest market is now China with nine-out-of-ten Chinese customers ordering BMW Individual specification, and five out of ten customers opting for the flagship V12 760Li and three out of ten specifying the 7er High Securitry model.

WOW!!! Those are some serious stats!!!

So, anyway, w/r/t the LCI facelift, are you saying it will still drop this week, just not at the auto show, but at a seperate press event?
