Official Premium Sound Announcement

The premium sound system in my 50000 mile 335 is better than the one in my familys brand new 7 series. its pathetic and disappointing. i like my music clear and loud [not a dumb teenager saying the bass doesnt "bump" loud enough] im saying that this stereo is fine if kept sort of loud, but as soon as u want that real immersion in what u are listening to the system cant handle it.

The title of the thread implies that BMW is announcing some change?

Just like an engine works better once it has been broken in, a sound system is no different. As you stated, your sound system in your car has had the time (and 50000 miles) to break in. Your families car is in your own words new and has not been broken in. Give it some time and it will sound different.

Same goes for home stereo systems (in particular the speakers). Any type of conventional new speaker will not sound as good as one that has been broken in!

Ambient temperatures also play a big role especially in automotive sound systems.

Also, sound is just like colors or styles, what one person thinks sounds or looks good another may think the exact opposite! Another thing to keep in mind is that your taste in music, sound, colors, styles, etc will change over the years. What you find really great now may be just ok in a few years!

The 3 series and 7 series cars are designed towards different groups of people and hence the styling, handling and even the sound system have been designed accordingly. I doubt that the majority of 7 series drivers (I'm thinking along the lines of executives) would want or need massive (as in ear deafening) base coming from their sound system.

Interesting! Can you give us more details in regards to what the difference is between the styles and what is included?
