Bent rims

Guys I’m gonna lose my mind. I’ve never bent a rim in my life..I’ve had my 2020 m760i for 2 months and now I’m on my 2nd bent rim from hitting a pot hole..it’s got summer tires on it right now on the 20in rims..will changing to all season tires help with rim damage if I run into less than ideal streets? Can I up my tire size at all?? Or is just moving down to 19in rims the only option if I want larger tires?

Slow down when you are on bad roads. If you have run flat tires then get rid of those and fit some regulars. Run flats ride like garbage and are hard on suspension and wheels.

I second removing the runflat tires. You will feel a considerable improvement in ride comfort due to softer sidewall. Softer sidewall should also help in preventing bent rims. With that said, I’ve heard that it doesn’t take much to bend an OEM BMW rim, so non-runflats might not save you.

The other option is to find forged wheels as they are considerably stronger than cast wheels. That said, I think the only OEM G12 BMW wheels are 21” 650M. 21s will run pretty rough (in my opinion) on 30 profile rear tires and tires cost quite a bit more to replace than 20” sizes.

I’ve seen a few G12 owners switch to 19” wheels due to bent rims and it seemed to work for them.
