iDrive 5.0 in the M3 huh. Nice.

I wonder if they upgraded any of the stereo amp components so the base HK doesn't sound as bad?

Wait a minute now - 2017 M5? The M5 ends production 10/16:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1082153

So, I guess they are now opting to call it a 2017 for these last few months (starting date not disclosed, apparently), even though no M5 will actually be produced in the year 2017? I suppose this is only possible since there will be a gap between the F10 M5 and F90 M5 production. The 2017 5 Series on the other hand will be a G30 rather than an F10.

No mention of CarPlay, luckily it looks like they will all have iDrive 5.0 which might be required for CarPlay.

Carplay will be retrofitted for free starting in the fall on MY2017 2, 3 and 4 series (and presumably other cars that already have iDrive 5.0). The hardware is updated to accommodate it, but BMW hasn't rolled it out yet.

Kinda annoyed the 328 -> 330 only costs $100 more, having just ordered a MY2016 328.

Even adjusted for inflation and usual general BMW price increase year over year, this is no material increase in price for iDrive 5.0 with WiFi and the B48 engine.

The wording isn't clear for M2 standard equipment.
Sounds like the Executive and M Drivers packages will both be included in the base price.
Is that right?

So, I guess they are now opting to call it a 2017 for these last few months (starting date not disclosed, apparently), even though no M5 will actually be produced in the year 2017. I suppose this is only possible since there will be a gap between the F10 M5 and F90 M5 production. The 2017 5 Series on the other hand will be a G30 rather than an F10.
Magna Steyr will begin producing some 5Series vehicles in Austria until the Z5 and Z6 starts production.

So on M3, adap susp now standard but not with comp pack? So comp pack gets standard susp or or is adaptive implied as being included in the base car?

Interesting, but its still weird for the M5 to be bumped to MY2017 now unless they are now going to extend production into calendar year 2017.

The line can handle UKL and CLAR (Fxx chassis can be built with the CLAR tooling as most of the hard points are carried over). Several of the owned and contracted factories need to be shuttered temporarily over the coming months to change out the chassis tooling for CLAR and UKL compatibility so production will be moved around quite a bit.

With the unit volume contract that is now unused with Magna, it can be utilized as a flexible surge line before dedicated series production is needed.
