Do you guys honestly think the 7er is the best luxury sedan in its class?

In terms of handling, I honestly think the Panamera, Quattroporte and 7er are the best but in terms of luxury, I honestly believe nothing will beat the S-class....

What about you guys...

Talking all factors into consideration, I believe the S Class is the better car. Looking only at engine and gearbox, the 730d is better than the S 350 CDI. Would that swing me in favour of the BMW ? Maybe. The 740d engine is by far better than the S 350 CDI. Would that swing me to the BMW ? Probably.

Stewart.

Nothing anymore. Panoramic roof is the only option not available on the 7.

The interior of the 7 is far better than the S. The leather used on a standard S550 is sub par. (The S600 is another story)

The exterior of the S, I have to say, is better. While I like the 7, an S makes more of a statement and can make your head turn. The 7's exterior is pretty conservative by comparions... which is surprising for a BMW.

Currently, it's the best, to me. The audi is a yawn-mobile that gets walked by V6 family sedans and has steering that feels like a video game, while the s is just f'n awkward looking with a hideous interior and feels $50k too high. I dont consider that big camry-lookalike competition, so I wont even bring it up except to point that out.

If I were in the market for a big barge of a luxury sedan, the F01 would be my first pick. It's not going to impress the uber-snobs, but I dont give a damn, so long as it keeps running circles around the competition.

In my comparison and test drives, here is how I would rate them:

1. BMW 750
2. MB S550
3. Audi A8

I like the exterior of the S class but didn't like the interior at all. Especially the dashboard and the awkward design of the COMMAND controller. The environmental controls felt cheap and sort of out of place.

The A8 has WAY to many control knobs and buttons all over the place. You are supposed to concentrate on the road and not search for a button that has been placed somewhere on the dashboard. The materials used in the Audi where sub par in comparison to the BMW or MB cars.

Granted, the 750 is the newest of the 3 and either MB and/or Audi will close the gap with their next generation of models, but for now, I think the BMW is the more technologically advanced car.

I would encourage members to drive the Panamera when it is available at dealers in late Oct.

This thread is dealing with "luxurious" and I think the Panamera is better than all the three vehicles discussed. We know the Audi has class leading interiors, but the Porsche is a notch above. This is not easy for me to say - since I live and breath BMW's.....

check out this video - it is the event I went to -twice.. Btw - the sound of the car seems to be confused with the guy's car taking the video. It sounds much more meaner than what sounds like a motorcycle on the vid

unbelievable...

I know that the Panamera 4S may cost $30k more than our F01's - but it drives easily and is awesome.
