G11 Luxury to M Sport Front Bumper Upgrade?

Hi all,

I'm back in a 2017 750Li xDrive. I absolutely love the car, and (bar the VIP seats) it's pretty much fully-loaded.

However, the one thing that "annoys" me (and I use that term lightly), is the fact that it's not an M Sport. Instead, it's the Luxury trim. Normally, I would always filter out non-M Sport cars when I'm buying, but given the fact that the spec on this was amazing - as was the price - I couldn't give up the sale.

Would it be possible to fit another G11 (2016-2018) M Sport front bumper to my 7er and call it a day? Or would I have to buy different brackets, etc. Just for clarity, I'm not looking to facelift the front end to a G12, but just to switch out the front bumper from the model year(ish).

TIA!

(P.S. Wheels are on the way!)

I'm just going off the memory here so I might miss some parts, but you should get the general idea of work involved.

You would need new bumper side guides, holders and supports for tertiary equipment like fog lights and headlight washers, upper and lower impact absorbers, lower bumper mount. Rear bumper just needs two additional brackets if I remember correctly.

The car is already a G12, it’s LWB. Just not an LCI.

I have done similar research when shopping for 7 series and I think you are looking at close $2000 just for all related parts. You can search for related parts online to get an idea. I decided to only buy m sport upfront given the hassle.

I never thought about the side guides and impact absorbers - thank you for adding that to the list.

Would I be wrong in thinking that if I bought a complete bumper (with fogs, washers and sensors), then I would just need the two things above?

Thanks for input! I feel like that would be the price for a brand new bumper plus all the bits and bobs. To clarify, I was looking at a complete used M Sport bumper, and trying to figure out if there were any other additional pieces that I need.

I tried RealOEM for the related parts, but couldn't find them (read as: I was probably looking in the wrong place and got confused lol)

No, you wouldn't be wrong. These are bumper mounted holders and brackets, as are bumber guides. It's just that these items dont come pre installed if you would just order a new bumper on product number basis. If you can get a bumper with all ancillaries included then that would be great!

I did this upgrade for a f10 and he is right.
You are going to need bumpers and different supports.

If u find a crashed one you can’t definitely get all the pieces you need. But you absolutely going to spend around 2000-2500 with painting as well.

I actually got hit in the back and they paid me 3000 to replace the bumper and I did the conversion.

But yea the g12 looks sick with m sport bumpers. I recently purchased one.

Being in a similar situation, I did the same conversion (both front and rear) a few years ago. RealOEM can direct you with the parts that are different. The bumper itself will bolt right up but you'll need the M-Sport specific ancillary items that the others have mentioned (mesh inserts, washer caps, etc). Very simple and straightforward.
