advice needed from 7 series experts,

hi all,

im a frequent reader to this site, but i registered now to ask you guyz a few questions that will put me at ease regarding buying my car,

getting to the point, the dealer in my country is giving us a very niice offer for 750li 2012 because they want to clearout the stock as the facelifted one will be arrived,

anyway since i didnt like much the new interior and cant see any reason to spend extra 20k $ for the new facelifted 7 , still i hate the idea that i will ride a car which will look a lil bet older when the 2013 will be on our streets.

so what i care to know is in time when i can afford i would like to change the exterior as much as i could so i can make it look like the facelifted one

i need to know can i change the read lights to the new darker one? and the front led headlights? the grills, bumbers, those additional chrome all of it i just want to know which one i can change for sure and which one will aquire more work to change like painting and cutting..

and regarding the wheels also, i like the 750 21' wheel if i put my 740 on those wheels will it affect the car or its fine to do so?

srry for making it long and i tried the best explaining what i need to know,,

waiting ur reps and thx

The front headlamps will fit the pre-LCI but if they work no one knows because they'll need to be coded and you might have to buy other parts plus the LED headlamps are quite expensive, almost $3000+ for the pair. The taillights can be changed but again you need to find out what parts you need and you will need to have the, coded. And I don't see a point of changing the tails because they're exactly the same just darker. Hopefully someone on this forum will try these retrofits so we know the true cost and what exactly is needed.

The grille is the same as the night vision girlle you get the pre-LCI, again if you like the LCI grille you can install it on the pre-LCI bumpers. And why waste money on the LCI bumper, just get the m sport bumper which is exactly the same m sport bumper on the LCI. Swap the headlamps, put the m sport bumper and your car will look like the LCI model.

save yourself the money. buy the facelift from the beginning.

- +45hp
- double glazed windows will make the new car MUCH quieter than the pre-facelift.
- 8 speed gearbox for those trips to Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, etc..
-bang & olufsen <3

you're in DXB, not bangalore

thx for ur HELPFULL rep ifanatic =) ..

thats what i wanted to know if i could change the front and rear lights without cutting regardless of the cost , it will be done in the future only..

i have 2 more questions guys :

1- the wheels in 750 2013 will be changed or they will use the same wheels as before?

2- if you guyz had to choose between 2012 740 or 2010 750 both are new cars with 0 milage, which one will you prefer?????

Same wheels for the LCI models coming to Canada but the EU models might have some new wheel options but I haven't seen any pictures online of any new wheels. And I would personally go for the 750 because of the power under the hood.

Same here, there's not enough 7 series owners that mod, if we were over on the 3 series forum we would already have people trying this retrofit.

thx much for your rep

i guess im going to take the 2010 750 for the power plus and since there is no difference between 2010 and 2012 models then 750 is the better choice XD

will be waiting for someone who try to fit the facelifted parts ^_^

No exterior or engine changes between 2009 - 2012. The interior had a few minor upgrades, the nav got updated I believe in 2011 to include internet access, BMW apps and bluetooth streaming from the ipad/iphone. You can upgrade to this for under a $1000. Also on the rev counter you got the blue fuel efficiency indicator which wasn't on the 2009 and maybe the 2010.
