There is a fire sale on ///M badges, let's put them on everything. Next special edition will be a X1d ///M s-drive 2.0 bi turbo. They should be able to fit all that on the trunk, engraved of course.

BMW M
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BMW M GmbH

BMW M GmbH (previously: BMW Motorsport GmbH) is a subsidiary of German car manufacturer BMW AG.
BMW M, also known as M-Technik or just "M" (for Motorsport) was initially created to facilitate BMW’s racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicles portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.

Nice setup but low on power... oh and great to see BMW's new policy... slap an M badge on pretty much anything. But then again, AMG is doing the same thing on some models.

Way low on power. The V8 in the M5 or M6 has 560hp lol. That amount out of a FI V12 is just silly. Exterior looks okay, the engine kills it tho.

The new S65 AMG has a 6L twin turbo V12 and makes 621hp/738lbft. That seems better for a V12 FI.

Uk cars are littered with M badges. They're not M cars . They just have M sport body kits and interiors. Yet another way to justify massive prices.

No interior pics?
In some markets you can order the car without badges
The engine was released several years ago, no power bump yet

i just looked it up and apparently the engine in the 760 is only at 11.6 PSI, the S65 engine is at 22.1 PSI. crank those turbos up to 1.5 bar and let's see what this engine can do!

Three reasons why this engine configuration doesn't make more power even though it has the potential to:

1) Look at where the model is destined for... the Middle East. Do you think cooling might be a problem for such a powerful car? Yes, there are more powerful cars that get sold out in the middle east and even the Merc Brarbus V12 bi-turbo, but perhaps BMW haven't figured out the cooling bit yet i.e. there isn't a happy medium when considering bodywork design, and adding weight through use of oil and inter-coolers.

2) The 7 series, IMO, is a top-of-the-range luxury car. Perhaps the smoothest throttle mapping can only be achieved using this engine map which means lower power/torque?

3) Why would they tune it to it's full potential, or even near it, when the M7 maybe coming. Surely this is when we will see 600+HP/trq.

Just my thoughts.

Must be an arab thing...

I guess this dealer put some money on BMW's table. So he gets an exclusive contract to sell a luxury model with M-stickers.

Of course it does. But why would they ship it with more power when they can under power it and sell you a tune or PPK for a few grand more? Just because the factory "tunes it" at a specific power output does not mean that the engine capabilities have been maximized.

Care to elaborate? Have you been to the middle east? Have you seen the target demograph for this car and the market in which it will sell (competition)? I can assure you this is a modest car by many of their standards. Cars like the BMW 7 series and Merc S class, Jaguars are routinely used by chauffeurs to pick up the kids from school or drive the family to the mall.

It has good numbers in 0-60 so why adding more power on a car like that? It's not meant to be a sport car.

BTW for that money i'll buy a Maserati Quattroporte GTS...

bmw is providing a product that the Saudis want, and you would too if you had a customer worth BILLIONS.

If they wanted a go cart with an M badge on it bmw would make one for that market. I think we need to wake up to that reality and quit belly aching every time something with an M badge appears.

From my point of view the 760Li is a luxury car , no sporty.

I only Silverstone retains their good image.

In Monte Carlo Blue and Imola Red not seem appropriate use me, detracts from the car.

They would have added something more subtle like Deep Sea Blue would be a hit.

I own a 2011 760Li Black Sapphire and retains its luxury image, I am proud to own it.
Before thinking of buying 3 color options as Deep Sea Blue, Imperial Blue and Black Sapphire finish with the later by a larger after-sales.

Wtf?
A V8 next to a V12... You don't have a clue!
it's not about paper specs, it's all about premium and exclusiveness in this model.
A V8 next to a V12 it's like comparing a 4 banger to a I6, forget the specs!
It's a reason they release such a car with such specs in this area.
I guess they could've done the same thing in russia as well!?
The point is, use a excisting solution and get the most out of it before the new model comes out.
Like they did with the E9* M3.
