Diesel's use LL-04. I gather there will be a stock of the Castrol OE LL-04 on shelves for a bit before its replaced by the SOPUS products. Unless a new blend, the new stuff likely is the same as Pennzoil Euro-L 5w30...of which I have 3 cases at home waiting to go into the 335d during the next 3 oil changes

I hope not....
They probably are getting a better deal from Shell, but it's not like Castrol is the only company that makes good oils. Shell's oils are some of the best in the industry. Bmw does a lot of questionable things these days, but switching oil suppliers isn't one of them

Probably the 10w-60 stuff (despite it being labeled "M Twin Power Turbo"). It's probably a rebranded shell ultra helix 10w-60

Some of you might be opposed to this, but I used to run 5w-40 Rotella T6 in a number of performance cars. Always does great in analysis. You can use 5w-30 as an alternate, so there should be no reason why this wouldn't be okay. I may take the plunge and run it, regardless of what the manual says. Its seen use in the N54/N55 and I'm sure others.

Bob is the oil guy has tons of data and analysis on it.

Just picked up my car from service. Seems like they are still using the Castrol oil. Are they going to continue using Castrol until all the cars built before 2015 are out of warranty?
