Thinking of ordering this 7 series...

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...ationId=300558

BMW 740i
Jet Black/Oyster and Black Dakota leather
Piano Black trim
M-Sport, 19" wheels
Luxury Seating Package
Convenience package
Ceramic Controls
Premium Sound
Smart Phone Integration

It all comes out to $86,000. I'm going to do European delivery (part of the surprise for the Mrs, this will be her car) so I'm actually paying more like $81,000. Not bad, eh?

What do you guys think?

I'll grant that the GT is functional but I really struggle with its shape and styling. Reminds me too much of a Pontiac Aztec (which, now that I think of it, I haven't seen one on the road in YEARS)

but I know what colors she likes... and I like Plus it will get washed once a week and the car won't see too much action other than grocery getting.

Trust me, it suits her perfectly.

I got an E90 335i with sport pack for the wife, the only reason I mention the sp. is that every single wheel has kissed the curb. I was going to upgrade the wheels on our new X5, but I decided to just keep the 19" and have a little more sidewall. It would make me ill to have nice 21s chewed up by a curb.

Hai Green the packages which you have chosen are excellent, but I feel that your wife would also like the rear seat entertainment package (Entertainment Package) along with Park Distance Control (PDC) and Head Up Display, I am 100 percent sure your wife would enjoy the comfort in the rear seat and in the front seat too.

I wanted to ask you one thing is the car going to be self driven or chauffeur driven, because if it is driven both the ways (Chauffeur & Self) its enjoyable. I felt that these packages are necessary, I hope you would consider my Point of View.

I dunno, I've seen it in person, sat in it, and seen a couple on the road, and I'd have to say it has a relatively striking presence. It's still a little awkward, but TBH, I'm not such a fan of the looks of the SWB 7er either.

@bmwrockzz

PDC is standard here in the U.S. on the 7. Head up display... eh, strikes me as a gimic. I'd use it on an M3 or something I was going to drive hard (which I hardly ever do any more). The rear seats will probably be used two or three times in the car's life other than for grocery bags.

HUD is far from a gimic. It is an option you will use every single second you´re behind the wheel. It is very handy for sat nav info, speed info etc. all without having to move your head. Personally I wouldn´t order any car with HUD available without.

+111111111 on thijs-v-d-H comment!

I wouldn't buy a car without it!

My wife's car doesn't have it and every time I drive it I miss it... You get used to it so fast that you wonder how you did without it before!
If price is an issue, I would highly suggest that you consider the HUD over the ceramic package... although I love the ceramic controls...

I completely agree with this statement and the following one from xDrive50i.

Whenever I get into a vehicle without HUD, I never check my speed. Oops! Looking out of the windshield without ever having to look down is just so natural.

It is completely useful, especially when using Navi or during more-than-leisurely driving. She does have the M Sport for some reason... so I would assume that she will be driving it like an M3 to some degree Nonetheless, if you're willing to spend this much on a 7, I don't see why a useful $1300 option should be left out.
