Castrol Edge Oil Rebate 7/1/23 - 10/16/23

For the DIY oil changers that use Castrol Edge Euro Oil...they have a $20 rebate if you purchase 10 quarts or more.

I usually purchase 5 quart jugs from Walmart...they are currently $28 per jug in my neck of the woods...and I need two jugs each for my F15 X5 & F06 650iX GC.

Thought I pass on this temporary savings if others use this brand. You have to fill out the form at this link: https://apfco.com/Secured/R12686/

Even better, Walmart has just lowered the price to $24 for the Euro 5w30/5w40. $28 for 10 quarts of a decent oil.

Oil is such a personal selection…I won’t give a recommendation (to prevent being attacked for dispensing info that some may disagree with) other than what is in your owners manual…which is to use the viscosity that is recommended by BMW.

BTW, there’s an owners manual built into iDrive…and you can do a quick keyword search by typing/writing/speaking “O I L” to see what viscosity/type is specifically recommended by BMW for your vehicle.

What I purchased was Castrol Edge Euro Car 5w-30 full synthetic which also has the BMW LL-01 approval. Select what you think is best for your situation.

Thank you for your response. This was the oil I was looking to use mainly of the price and because the manual reccomends Castrol or BMW 5w30. I see a lot of people running the 5w40 Liquiy Molly that reacts to UV light but that might be a little too much for me. I have also seen guys using engine oil additives and while it sound good the manual clearly states any of those are a NO GO.

No problem. Someone posted about a week ago that Walmart had lowered the price for the 5 quart jugs to around $23 per jug. That’s $5 less than what I paid back in Aug/2023.

BTW, do be aware that BMW endorses whoever pays to dance with them. Castrol used to be the “Queen-of-the-ball” (QoB) back when our cars were being produced…thus the oil filler caps usually has Castol’s name on them. But in the late teens to recent…Shell has been the “QoB”…so on current BMWs…you’ll see Shell being endorsed on the fuel filler doors and oil fill caps, etc.

Which means that Shell oil brands will usually have BMWs endorsement as well (Valvoline & Quaker State)..which are also sold at Walmart in 5 quart jugs.
