CODE OUT TPMS - Need Some Help!!

I have followed some steps through Esys that some folks were using for their f30s, but they did not seem to fully work for me. Does anyone have any steps in Esys that I can code out the TPMS. I just want the errors gone from the cluster and headunit. I dont care to keep the FTM. Any Help???

BMW uses a direct and indirect tire monitoring system. You used both acronyms in your post and did not indicate which system you actually have or which procedure you were using to code the system off? Do you have the TPM system (direct) or the FTM system (indirect).

It’s kind of easy to tell which system you have…when you pull up the tire monitoring screen, what does it say along the bottom? Does it say TPM or RDC (direct) or does it say FTM or RPA (indirect)

So I just checked on screen. The first icon says Flat Tire Monitor (but to be honest I dont remember it ever saying that), but the bottom says TPM Malfunction. So I dont know which one I have. But when I tried to code it out in esys, in the FA I took out the 2VB from the file and then coded the ECUs (KOMBI, HU, DSC, and one other). I wonder if this coding has changed my system some? But truly, I dont know which one I have but it says FTM on it right now, is there a way esys to get rid of the tire light in instrument cluster and head unit? Or is there another program to use to get rid of it?

I know I have the TPM system. My car measures each individual tire pressor from each sensor. I have the RDC system in the trunk and I have antenna under car to.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I had to remove fuse #139 from trunk to make system not recognize the TPMS system and after all my coding, the error messages are all gone!!!

If anyone wants info on this to help remove from a F01/F02, just ask! Im happy to help!

The 2VB option code is the TPM/RDC (direct) system that uses the sensors in each wheel that sends data to the RDC control module which eventually sends tire pressure and tire temp to the iDrive screen.

From your coding attempts…it appears you did remove the 2VB/TPM/RDC system since you say you saw the FTM/RPA (indirect) writing appear on the screen. At this point, the RDC control unit was no longer receiving data from the sensors in the 4 wheels. At this point, did you RESET/REINITIALIZE the FTM system to see if the light would go out?

When the idrive screen displayed FTM, your tire inflation should have been registering by the rotation of your wheels and the ABS sensors sending data through the DSC module…then onto your iDrive screen.

But it appears you “fixed” it by pulling the fuse. To anyone wanting to switch from the direct to the indirect system due to not wanting to deal with the TPMS sensors in the wheels but would STILL like to have a warning if one of your tires started to lose pressure by way of the INDIRECT FTM/RPA system…then do NOT pull the fuse…but find the correct way to switch systems. But again, if you don’t need or want any low tire pressure warning at all…then by all means…feel free to remove the fuse.

And if you sell the vehicle…please reinsert the fuse and code one or the other systems TPM/RDC or FTM/RPA so the next owner won’t be pulling their hair out trying to figure out what’s wrong with the car. .
