Which 7 Series to buy - F02 or G11?

I am toying with a 740d or 730d

2015 F02 or G11

I have a conundrum:

F02 - Old, Quiet, Value for money.

G11 - Road noise, better drive, keep for longer.

So, when it comes to money.... which do you think looses the most for my ownership?

1. The F
2. An ex demo G11

Can you Check my math? 20k per annum.

Example - G11 ex demo £45,000 - keep for 3 years min. Recoup £20,000 in 2020.

Loss - £25,000 £694.00 a month over 3 years £520.00 over four.

Example 2 - F02 2015 £32,000 - keep for 2 years. Recoup £18,000 in 2019

Loss £14,000 £583 a month...

Which car do you like better? Buy it. If this were purely a financial decision, you wouldn't even be considering 7 series. Seriously, though, your "loss" calculations are comparing 2 years vs three years. To make a valid comparison, you need to think about what you will do in year 3 if you buy the F02. Let's say you want a G11 then and can get the same kind of deal. That means in year 3, you will spend £694 x 12 = £8328. Add that to the £14000 for the first two years and you are at £22328. The difference is only £2672. Even if you bought a another used car then (let's assume you could do it for £583 a month), you would have to add another £6996, making the total about £21000. IMHO getting a new (demo) car makes more sense.

What about the pcp option? I saw a 5k deposit and 499 a month option for a 730d m-sport this year

Amazing responses thanks so much.

There are some nice 0% deals BUT they are low miles AND you pay the 61 ( including discount ) as an example.

This means that the actual price is always going to me more

£61,000 is always going to be more expensive than say £45,000 right?

Both my options are interest free.

I had calculated that if I got a G11 for around say £44,000 Worse case.

3 years and at 55,000 miles that car will be worht around £24,000 private minimum right?

So that is a loss of £20,000 over 3 years - which is around the same as many people loose on PCPs and have nothing at the end surely?

I also think that a used F02 ( no offence ) will be a pig to sell on in 2020. G11 not so much due to it being a Shed load cooler and more fashionable.

The F02 concern for me is whom to re sell the car to.
