If Tesla can successfully produce this car and satisfy the numbers Musk claims: GAME OVER This will change the way we think of performance cars. You can say bye-bye to the ICE not long from now. Model 3 production problems be damned, I should probably have kept my TSLA stock. I wonder what it will open at tomorrow? Of course all the questions remain: Q: Can the grid keep up with an electric driving population? A: It will have to and it will adapt because where there is profit, there is motivation. Q: Will pollution get worse now that we need more energy to power the grid? A: I don't think it can get worse. Best case is it gets better or stays the same. Figure fuel transportation and refinement and an electric car based infrastructure is still the better choice once we get the kinks worked out. Q: Are there enough chargers to power an electric car population? A: See first question's answer.

Very nice.
How `bout i beat the haters to it: No mention of curb weight. I wonder how fast it is around the ring. The real question is: Can it beat a Honda type R? I actually don't love it's arse. It reminds me of the model x. I do love its steering wheel. Last edited by xQx; 11-17-2017 at 12:13 AM.. Reason: its, not it's. |

U-Turns are gonna be tough. And parallel parking. Unless it's variable ratio, but even then, it's gotta be crazy.

Electric cars are still too few to make a dent. Those fans seem to forget this.
Those numbers, while impressive, doesn't concern me. Elon Musk has a history of overselling and not delivering. I'll hold my judgment until then.

What kind of tires do they have to be able to put those numbers down? 10000nm is over 7000 ft lbs of tq if I’m not mistaken. Looks pretty slick though.

1000nm is impressive, especially from a standing start. 3 motors and 1.9 seconds means it's awd. Ive got exactly zero experience with cars this powerful, but even the most powerful wrx's don't tend to spin their wheels in a straight line in the wet, so I expect regular sticky tires would have no issue getting the power down to 4 wheels. |

Elon needed something to distract the shareholders from the Model 3 and battery factory woes. This sure does that.

For the cash and the target market it kind of looks cheap to me, I'm having a tough time putting my finger on it, almost in a Fiero kind of way.....

They do from a start, for sure. Most don't have enough HP to do this, but the big HP modded ones, for sure.
