Cleaning instrument panel
Hi everyone,
Does anybody know how to properly clean instrument panel on a new 7 series? It looks like it is made out of plexiglass or some other weird material and cleaning with only water leaves some kind of residue on it, so if you look at it on the angle it looks like smeared. |

1. Never clean the cluster when the vehicle interior is hot. This will evaporate the water in your cleaning towel and eliminate the lubrication causing scratches. 2. always use clean towels or MF towels. 3. Using just water can be a problem if there are oils on the cluster's jewel. 4. Soak one of your clean MF towels in fresh clean water. If you are anal, use only distilled water. 5. If there are oils on the jewel, add two drops of dawn onto the soaking wet MF cloth and soak again spreading around the soap as it slightly suds. 6. Ring out the soaked MF towel as much so the water is not dripping out of it. 7. Use the wet MF towel (that has the dawn) to clean the cluster jewel. So long as the towel remains wet, you can keep wiping back and forth on the jewel. Repeat as much as possible. 8. Now take a clean paper towel or MF Cloth and flatten out so it covers the span of the jewel from top to bottom. 9. With a SINGLE wipe from left to right, apply pressure so the dry towel is pressed against the entire top to bottom span of the jewel as you wipe once from left to right. 10. Never dry wipe more than once or you risk scratching the jewel. With a little practice you will get good at this. 11. This procedure works great for laptop screens and computer screens too. |
