Don’t know what you guys are talking about...(he says with a very smug smile) it’s really pretty decent here.

Here being the Canaries! Greetings from Tenerife! 24 C today, got a bit of a sun burn but it’s nothing serious,

Regarding weather: we’re changinv the planets rhythms and no one knows what that does in reality but it’s not good as typically, the current thought is colder places become even colder, warmer places become even more arid. Not sure we’d get more snow to be honest, however, the severity of storms would increase and the frequency will increase is what we think...no crystal balls though and weather is an inexact science. Safe travels if you do have to get out and about. I’ll worry about the snow and whether someone’s smacked mine in Gatwick long stay on Monday night!

Look at that. He's abandoned ship before it hit the snow with his insider knowledge

Have a nice holiday

Guess more rain and flooding for us in the UK long term then. Maybe I'll need an SUV after all.

Heh, just lucky timing, couldn’t have planned this if I tried (if I could I would be far richer than I am!) An X may be in all our futures if the move to SUV’s continues as otherwise one ends up being lower than the rest of the vehicles and risks being killed in an accident due to height differences with crumple zones, etc...a few years off yet and indeed not a fan to be honest but I’ll enjoy the 7 as long as I can!

Well hitting a Range Rover might not go down all that well but most people get crossovers or mid sized SUV's in the UK.

Quick Google puts a Honda CRV at 1,500kg where as a M760Li at 2,200kg odd. V12 adds quite a bit of weight obviously. Even the lightest 7 series G11 which I guess is the 740i comes in just under 1,800kg without any options that add weight.

Weight has a huge amount to do with it so I suspect you'll be safer in a 7 series vs the small / mid sized SUV's.

Weight is important but I am more concerned about the height of the ‘bumpers’ and the jacked up suspension versions, which would put a rock bar (bumper) higher than the bumper or even the bonnet of a 7 in some cases. Granted not there yet but when the majority are higher by a margin than the bumper of a 7 then one needs to consider if it’s better to join them than stick in a car and fight them. Long way off yet but coming sadly it seems.

The SUV's sold here generally aren't that high are they? I can get that in America where some of their SUV's could probably clear the roof of the 7 series they are so big and high

Yeah guess the day will eventually come though.
