All look the same year after year....the only 7 series anything i remotely even thought about being in as a middle aged adult down the line was the Alpina b7.

I'm actually encouraged by the overall shape of the car. As an owner of an F02 740Li, I've been wondering how dramatic a departure from the current design BMW would embark upon for the next generation 7. Cammo notwithstanding, the changes appear to be evolutionary, not "revolutionary" which is a good thing, since I do love the styling of the existing car.

Because this Phantom is commonly known as a mule it is not respondent of how the Phantom will look inside and out as it uses a mixture of both BMW and Rolls-Royce parts. We won't see the next Phantom until 2017 as there is a lot of testing to complete including the structural aspects of using the CFRP passenger cell which was previewed on the Vision Future Luxury Concept Car.

And most recently unveiled to the world, the Phantom will have an additional variant of BMW turbo eDrive which will showcase typical RR power with the efficiency of a 3er sedan.

I find that quite ugly. Would probably buy an S Class over that. The lack of separation between the lights and grille looks bad. Reminds me of the Dodge Challenger (another car that I hate).

Weight reduction is a struggle because the more efficient engines wind up weighing more and government mandated equipment adds weight.

The 7-Series and A8 will never be top dog. The S-Class has this segment locked down. The Mercedes will always have more luxury than the other two and isn't working with a ceiling.

mercedes to me has always been for italians with gaudy gold jewelry that run a tailor or restaurant/club (not that there is anything wrong with it). bmw and audi are for the tech, modern business professionals. sometimes the word luxury can mean different things. for mercedes its gaudy wood and chrome. for bmw/audi, its tech, drive, fit and finish.

There is still a lot of camo on these, you can see plastic/or foam on the hood, trunk and sides distorting the shape.

That is exactly what BMW is doing it seems, in order to counter those unnecessary weight.

That's your perception of what the S-Class is but generally speaking, the S-Class embodies and represents what a luxury car is - something that the 7-Series and A8 will never be or have - not because they can't, it's just not the direction BMW and Audi want to take these cars in.

looking good a nice evolution but still looks cheap. I was expecting more drama for a flagship. Those exhaust tips are really cheap. A c class has much better looking chrome details on the exhaust and costs half as much as this baby. and the front bumper?? hopefully these are preproduction. and the rear lights look like the A8 lci

To me it looks a lot like the e90 LCI, only bigger (especially the side profile of the normal wheel base version). Which is a good thing, because I hate the F30 front end (save for the M3).

I agree. The S-Class is definitely the more luxurious of the bunch but has a very "old" image to it. I see middle age professionals in the 7er or the A8 more. S-Class is a vehicle i notice more retirees in

The S Class is for 90 year olds. The audi is based on front wheel drive Volkswagen architecture and the 7 has always been the enthusiasts choice
