Not really. Diesel is cheaper in the U.S. when you factor in the extra miles per gallon.

I rarely see any 760 Li, mostly 750i and like two B7 in NYC. I can't see people splurging on an M7.

Actually the prices fluctuate. Just today I saw diesel for 3 bucks a gallon and 91 was 4.19 a gallon

At first I thought this was a joke. Yeah. Go ahed and build a X3M with a diesel. But dont ruin the M7! When will BMW for just one of their main cars stop thinking only about sales. If a person has the money to buy an M7, he wouldn't buy a diesel. Come on. The performance might be there, but not the sound.

In NYC, diesel is generally within a dollar of premium but unless diesel is more than double the price of premium, it's more economical than gasoline based on mpg. IMHO, if you're buying a premium luxury car, gas prices shouldn't really be a factor.

BMW not understand why, even not decide to build the M7? Rivals the S8 and S-Class AMG..
They have 15 years offering customers who want superfast limousines!

M7 to production!, M7 to production! , M7 to production!, M7 to production!!!

I doubt that bmw will make an M7....they cancel everything that's promising , it does not need to be necessarily profitable IMO, just look at vw's phaeton , they loose money on it , but they say they that phaeton needs to represent vw even though they are loosing money on it! , same thing with Veyron...
in bmw's case it coild be the same 4,4 or a downsized version 4,0 off of bmw m5 30 jahre edition with 600hp , it's gonna be called 750is or 765 maybe which in that case makes no sense for V12 to sit below V8 , if they decide to make a more potent version of 760 , the engine should be based on V12 imo and to compete with s63 amg or s65 amg? which one is it? Mb has these two monsters for yeas now

Volkswagen sells about as many Golfs as BMW do cars, you can't judge BMW by a VAG group yardstick, they are 5 times the size. They can afford to do things at "a loss".

I'd think they would be slightly ahead of the game having successfully turned both the X5 & X6 into M's. In addition, there is already the Alpina variant to dissect, you know, for inspiration or what have you. I would not be surprised if there were already mockups.

If you are buying an M7 I doubt you care about the cost of gas.
