BMW 740e xdrive iperformance Purchased!

OK guys, my lease is up in 4 months on my 2015 750Lxi individual.

Of course BMW is offering to waive remaining payments for new to get into a new lease.

Upon reading the initial C&D review, I was not into the 740e, but after test driving one, my opinion was different. I have read reviews from publications all over the world and watched YouTube reviews from everywhere and it seems the overall negative I'm seeing is the price. I'm getting a fantabulous price on a new '17 740e. Because of where I work I get fleet pricing and have found one specific 740e with almost everything I want on it for a steal of a deal.

Does anyone have any positive thoughts to add?

Just wanted to hear thoughts from the forum.

Thanks

I come from a hybrid car ,I can't say hybrids are the best idea ever done nor the worst when it comes to automotive engineering .I would just say that 740 X Drive is what I would consider if I had to choose a model from G11/12 Model Line Up .
I must also say that I don't believe that 30 kilometers of E-Drive or whatever it is specified a bit stretched for city driving, my car was eating up batteries in just 11 kilometers of city driving and showed only 7 kilometers of range left of total of 25 kilometers of full E-Drive .To make it simple in 11 kilometers it consumed up as if I had covered 18 kilometers of drive

I struggled between the 740i and the 740e. Both are fantastic and seemed to drive about the same as each other with plenty of power. We ultimate went with the 740i because our driving pattern is about 80% highway driving. We didn't think we could achieve much better mileage with the 740e because of this...plus we were getting a better deal on the 740i. However, if we were primarily city drivers we would definitely gone with the 740e because then you can really increase the overall mileage because you are all-electric a much greater percent of the time.

It sounds like you are finding a great 740e deal, so assuming you cannot get a better deal on a 740i go for the 740e. You can't go wrong either way!

Brand New car 740e 225 miles on it, 5k down, 15k miles, 36 months $775.
Msrp $103,095, I think that's a phenomenal deal.

Is $775 after tax?
I am also thinking about 740e till I saw 530e has same engine with 740e, except that 530e gas engine is 180-hp which is lower than 740e's.
Then I'm struggled with why it's 740e but not 730e?

Very good indeed. 225 miles is not brand new but close enough.

Looks great!

I m going to have a test drive in two weeks... I m planning to get one(LCI) in 2019.

Would be great if you share your long term experience with it in a couple of month.

Thanks!

Will do. Its been a great 2 weeks. The last 5 days all electric, granted I been driving mostly local. 228 miles using 5-5.5 gallons of gas so far.

So I put in some more gas today, but just before doing so, I documented 253 miles on a half tank of gas, in the 740e that is 6.05 gallons (12.1 gallon tank).

Doing the math city and hwy combined mpg = 41.81 mpg

Much better than my 2015 750Lxi that I turned in to get this one
