xdrive MPG please...

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger...little concerned about 15/20mpg but most people i talk to are telling me you will get close to 20mpg if you do highway - can some folks confirm/deny this?

I drive a E500 with similar ratings, drive an avg speed of about 40mph to work and get about 20mpg...i just don't want to stray to far from that if i can avoid it.

Any info is appreciated.

thx

I've had mine three weeks. With 2000 miles in winter weather I'm getting 17 in combined city/highway.

Hi,
Drive mostly highway - no traffic I get between 18.2 and rarely 19.2. Moderate traffic I get 16 barely.
10-13 city. Combined for me is 15.5.
Car is a real guzzler. Same as a big suv.
Have apprx 1600 miles on car so far.

Hi DBS,
Get on a clean highway, do 60-70mph smooth driving. You should get 19mpg. If not, car has a problem. Use normal mode.

Sorry. This car sucks gas. The stability of Xdrive is stunning especially in the snow.

I run double sport at 14.5 city. If you baby the car you can get 16 city at most. To be blunt, forget MPG I can only get about 220 MPT.

Of course that's miles per tank. So, not only do you get crappy mileage you also have to fill up every three days!

Again, use active cruise to get better city mileage. The slow starts add up to bigger savings. You can get 20 on the highway. I think the ethanol robs you a bit too if your gas had it.

Btw, if you put the car in sport plus the car will upshift and if you then shift into sport mode it will rev higher too. I call this double sport.

There is a difference!
