Need Advice Before Wednesday!!!
My extended warranty will end next month and yesterday I found a coolant leak. This morning I booked the vehicle with the dealer and Thank God this leak happened now and not in May...
The dealer have two services for a final inspection before the extended warranty expires. A 55 point inspection for $60 or a deeper inspection they call it pumper-to-pumper including reading error codes etc. for $360. I need your advice if you went through a similar situation. Which inspection service should I choose? I don't have a problem is paying the $360, I just want to make sure I'm getting the right service and not wasting $$$. I know at the end of the day, it's luck and I may do all this and in two months something big might happen.... I appreciated if you could get back to me before Wednesday morning as this is the time I'm bring the car in. |

Get the bumper to bumper. If you're considering an extended warranty, the dealership may waive the fee if you end up buying it.
In my case, they waived the fee and found warped rotors and ended up replacing both front and rear brakes (pads and rotors) under original new car warranty, which offset the warranty I ended up buying!!

How much did your warranty cost and what kind of coverage did you get? Thanks

If the basics inspection let you extend warranty, stick with that. If you don't know this car at all then 360$ is good to do it ... (everything depends on the conscientiousness of the person who will conduct the inspections)

Here is my whole saga, about $6700 which includes Tire and wheel. Always pays to shop around. I figured after the brake pulsating that they diagnosed and covered under warranty (I didn't feel a thing) the warranty was practically free.

Thanks for the feedback. I will go with the bumper-to-bumper inspection as I think it's worth it. Anyway, mostly likely I will drive this car for another year before replacing it.
