Do you think there will be an M7? Yes or No?

The rumors on whether or not there will be an M7 keep on sprouting out........and a new piece on the rumorfill is resurfacing.

You have one rumor that says there will be an M7:

Quote:
Autobild: "We believe an M7 will come out sometime next year"

http://www.worldcarfans.com/11504299...mored-for-2016
And those that say no:

Quote:
Paul Ferraiolo, BMW North America manager of product planning and strategy:

"We feel really good with what we’ve got with Alpina. The M adds sort of a track-element to that, and I don’t know if there’s a lot of demand for the 7 Series on the track.”

Read more at http://www.caradvice.com.au/321081/b...wOgHciDtab6.99
Unfortunately, Alpina is shit.........and is no substitute for full-fledged M cars (which is why the Alpina B7 got its @$$ kicked by an Audi S8)

So anyways what do guys think?

If ever an M7 will come out, what engine will it use?

Many say that it might use a V8 Twin turbo.

Question is: Would you trade the refinement and exhaust note of a V12 (760Li M-Sport) for a V8 one?

*Similar to the A8L W12 vs S8 argument"

I don't think there will be an M7. Would be cool to see one though!

I think given the series already available BMW will not make the M7, however, I believe it will be exciting if they did.

BMW has been steadfast in the no M7 even for this chassis. There will be a new B7 and supposedly was told by the BMW NA head there will indeed be a M Performance model, supposedly a limited edition M770i announced for summer time.

Nah. There's no reason for one really. I think they'll continue with the Alpina relationship to field the next super-sport B7.

No interest in the 7 being a M car... having said that I already have a 16 M6 so I want my 7 to be like our SMerc - comfortable, latest technology ++

The M-performance model won't have a V8, but the V12. Like the other V12 models, it will only be offered as a G12 with Xdrive.

Hehe I hope so.

Btw, do you think it will be positioned above the 760Li M-Sport?

No one know for sure about the engine of the M770 but the word is extremely limited production to 1 per dealer. So it will definitely be above the 760 M Sport. Higher tune and suspension to compete with cars like the S8plus and the S63/S65

I don't really see the point of a full M car. The point of this car is to be comfortable and have the luxury. Putting in a M DCT and M suspension in the car will make the car a tougher sale in my opinion. It won't be as smooth as a ride anymore, even in full comfort settings.

I completely understand wanting more straight line speed, but the alpina or 760/770 should suffice for that.

Why does everyone say this yet we have the X5m and X6m!? I get where you are coming from and would agree if the only Ms were the M3, M5 and M6 like a few years ago.

Just frustrating with all the SUV Ms. And don't even get me started on AMG.
