USB Audio Interface question
Folks,
I was at the dealer this morning to talk over a 730d M Sport. They happen to have one in the showroom that is loaded with options and they are practically giving it away. The spec is impressive however there is no USB port in the armrest only in the glove compartment. It has Pro Nav as part of the standard spec. One of the big things i must have is the ability to plug in my ipod. The salesman is trying to get me to upload tracks to the harddisk but i would rather use my ipod. The brochure dated April 2011 says that USB Audio Interface is standard equipment, however this car was built on week 51 of 2010. I tried my ipod in the glovebox usb but it didnt pick it up. Anybody know if the ipod should work? Any help appreciated. Thanks |

The glove compartment USB interface is only for transferring songs onto the internal HDD as well as backup your settings (profiles you setup in the iDrive controller) to a USB memory stick.
You can NOT playback music via the glove compartment USB interface. You need the center arm rest USB interface to playback music via the iDrive controller.
