Need to be VIP at the dealer would most likely be the easiest. I got it because I know the people that was running the Calgary program.

I'm hoping that much of the new tech trickles into the new 5 series. Looking forward to what the M5 offers.

It reminds my of my E39 M5, which is Sterling gray, caramel interior with full leather and alcantara headliner. Of course, I have NONE of the tech in my M5.
I am probably not in their demographic either BUT after this experience it did shed new light on the 7. I never really understood why anyone would need a 7 if the 5 would do just as well (of course the 7 is longer etc etc). After this extended drive I have a new appreciation for the 7 and it is a very different vehicle than the 5. Would I get it in the future? Probably.

If the 7 is the beginning of a new chapter for BMW chassis/technology I believe the 5 will be even better because it should be even lighter than the 7.

I guess I'll have to let BMW know that I am ready to be converted and they can start my week-long test drive and plan for my private gourmet meal for 5 (actually I'll see if they'll let me invite 6) whenever they want. I'm sure I'll hear from them soon! I wonder if I can have a wine tasting instead of the scotch...

Is that a G11 - so short wheelbase! Sure looks like it is. So only the USA does not get this car, only the G12- long. Bullshit

BMW marketing says we are too stupid to have both in the US. Nice car- love the G11

I got the same invite for a weekend with an i8 or 7. But when I started signing up for it, the weekend drive was only for the 7.

I am in love with this new 7er. This combo looks great in M sport guise.

Amazing car! Nice write up as well. I don't ever think I'll drive a 7, as it is not my style. I do hope this tech does trickle down to other models. These are great features that I would be willing to pay for. Who doesn't like blue lights!

Nice write up. Although, I feel that BMW Canada always gives extra perks. I guess ours are lower prices....
