Okay....

Picked her up today.

First impressions... The car is ultra responsive under even the slightest tap of throttle! After putting @ 20 miles on her, MPG in combined City/Hwy have improved from @ 11 to 18. Most importantly: No MISFIRES detected!

Here's what they did:

BMW REQ: Check and Perform N63 Customer Care Pkg
Per SI 11 06 14, Label 721 Sublet Allowed Fluids
Perform Timing Chain Test: PASS
Performed SIB 11 06 14 TC 60475063
Replaced Updated Parts - Vacuum Pump - Low Pressure Fuel Sensor -
Crank Case Vent Valves and Lines for Both Banks - Vent Pipe - Fuel Feed Line(2) -
Connecting Line(2) - Clamp - Gasket - Hot Film Air Mass Meter - Oil & Filter 5w30
Reimburse Customer Towards Repairs: 8 Injectors Replaced and Paid For in September 2014

Hope this helps.

Also... Why has this thread not been STICKY at the top page? I mean, it certainly is the most "impactful topic" going for our cars. And can be "quickly referenced".

All I know is... It's good to have her back!

Now... Time for a "proper" cleaning and detail!

Took my car to the dealer, on 1/15, for an unrelated issue. The solenoid has been sticking, when engaged with the starter, which would create an awful grinding noise, on cold starts. However, it only happens on occasion. Reported the problem, to the dealer, every time that it was in for service. However, they could never duplicate the problem. Therefore, it was never fixed. Fortunately, this time they were able to hear the grinding noise and agreed to replace the starter. However, the part had to be ordered, from Germany. So, I'm still in a loaner.

Last night, I come across this thread. So, today, I call to see if my car is going to be done, as promised. They said they need one more day, as they had to rush order some kind of vent cover or something. I ask my SA if he is aware of the 12/29/14 service bulletin and he replies, "you mean the N63 Customer Care Package?" (I was relieved that he knew about it). He said that he was aware of it and had already ran the check on my vehicle. I asked if anything was replaced, as a result. He said that he believed everything checked out ok. But I probably did get a software update.

However, I read that certain things were supposed to be replaced regardless of any testing (ie. air mass sensors, crank case vent lines, and intake duct seal). Maybe that info isn't accurate? The car is supposed to be ready tomorrow. I have all of the info that I have accumulated, on this bulletin (just google the bulletin #... all kind of stuff available), and plan to bring it with me and ask questions, if the work order, from BMW, doesn't match up with the info in the bulletin. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for starting this thread TXSTYLE... much appreciated!

Had to cancel my appointment with Budds BMW (A popular dealership in Toronto) today for analyzing my 2012 750. They refused to provide me with a loaner while the car would be in for analysis and insisted I should pay for a rental from Enterprise.

What an absolute joke. If you live in the Greater Toronto area and are going to be getting this service done to you vehicle, do not go to Budds. They will stick you with a bus pass instead of a loaner.

That's total nonsense. This is BMWs problem.

Please post contact info for GM of dealership. I will call them and give them a piece of my mind.

Told my buddy about this issue. He had no idea. He took it in to Beverly Hills BMW and is getting worked on now after making an appointment over a week ago. He got a blue M sport 335 for a loaner. I'll report back on what exactly was done. Just for info, he had his turbo system replaced a few thousand miles ago and currently having battery issues. Car has I believe 25k miles.

I just dropped of my 2011 750i for the service bulletin work today (54,000 miles). About 2000 miles ago I had faulty turbochargers, battery, and engine coolant hoses replaced. I inquired about a reimbursement for the out of warranty repairs I paid out of pocket for the previous repairs and they said they will look into it. Any of you have similar experience as far as reimbursement?

I had a lot of issues with my '11 550, but everything was covered under warranty. Just dropped off my '12 750 this morning. Getting annoyed with driving loaner 328s. Has anyone inquired about the "buy-back"?

Yep. $2k off of the purchase of a new BMW.

So I'm a bit confused. Do all vehicles with this engine automatically get grouped into this "care package". What if the car checks out ok? Also, is the buyback a potential way to get more trade in value?

I just got the call from my BMW dealership that they are doing the work on my 750. This is good news for Canadians because it means that Canada now how the service bulletin out too. They took my car on Friday February 27th and they expect that it should be done around Wednesday March 4 2015. As for a loaner they didn't give me one because the car was in town anyway and I was not. Had I needed one they usually give me a X1 or a 323i.

When I get the machine back I will see what work was done and report it to you here. I do know they will be replacing the battery for sure because that was why the car was in the shop.

This is good news my friends! This will really help the resale on the car from dropping like a rock. May all your repairs be fast and done right!

Your 2015 has the n63tu engine which is not affected by the campaign. With your engine BMW basically fixed all of these issues so you are good to go. It's the n63 engine that the campaign is for. The "tu" is for technical update. So there you go.
