Please Help Needed: F01 750iLx or X5 5.0 @2011-2012 year

Hi guys,
i have had pretty much every series car including the X5 2008 4.8 and i am in the Dilema here again.

time to buy wifey a new car and soon to be a daddy as well.

so here is my questions so please any comments would be great!!!

both options cars i can find for approximately under 55k out the door including taxes in California.

Option 1:
White 750iLxdrive M-sport package

Option 2:
White X5 5.0 Mpackage

reason why I cant choose is becuase i dont know if 750iL will have enough space for:
car seat
stroller
baby changing clothes, maybe our clothes and like 2 day trips around here.

Please throw out your thoughts as there is no right or wrong answer.

time to purchase should be in January-Martch 2015 so I still have time to decide....

thank you all

The 750Li holds way more than the X5. I went from an X5M to the 750 and I've never had a problem with it not holding stuff. Its an F02 though. The F01 is the short version.

Either way, I wouldn't touch either one of them at this point, any older than a 13 or 14. Once the warranty is gone, you're looking at extremely expensive repairs. The N63 has weak valve seals according to my dealer, and its several thousand dollars to pull the heads and replace them. They flat out told me when my warranty expired, get rid of the car or you're gonna spend $30-40k in the next few years in repairs (head rebuilds, turbos, intercoolers, transmission, air shocks, etc.). I ordered a new F34 2 weeks later, because I want no part of that.

If you can afford it, either vehicle will get the job done. If you can't, you're looking at the wrong cars.

Thanks for the comment! sounds great will definately take that into the consideration. couple of things i guess i wanted to add.

i will be buying the '12 probably and i will make sure it has less then 24k miles and on top of that i will purchase the extended warrantee till 100k and 2 years so that will give me time until, i say about... 2016-2017... so about 3 years on the car... which i think then i will be able to sell it without loosing too much $..... maybe thoughts on that?

I was also thinking about X5M 2011 (thats the price range) but nothing interesting comes up and it is 2011 unfortunately....

thanks again!

Oh you're gonna lose money on it. 7 series prices fall huge. I paid $45k for my 750 in May, and now they're taking it in trade for $32500. Twelve and a half grand in 6 months.

My friend is selling his loaded 2012 X5M, but the mileage is higher than i'd recommend. Its just under 50k, for $54,500.

Let fill you in a secret. Mike is making an excellent point.

However, I am going to rework his point to put a lil Pizazz to it:

If you can afford to maintain either the x5 or 750 out of warranty, then clearly you can afford to buy (or finance) a new one.

Because of this fact: Go new.

If a new x5 or 750 is outside your budget then the cost of maintaining either of these two vehicles post warranty will exceed your budget too.

(this doesn't mean you can't afford it, it means you simply don't want to pay the price of a new one)
